Automatically play media when card is flipped

Hi,

In the past, whenever I reviewed a deck of cards with media, the audio file would play automatically when the card was first displayed, and would play again when the answer was shown.  This changed some weeks ago, probably when I upgraded to the current version (2.3.2). Now the media plays only once, when the card is first displayed. Does anyone know what might be causing this behavior?

The code was changed a couple of times in the audio area.

The current behavior matches Anki desktop behavior, unless different in a way to support the individual play buttons we expose in AnkiDroid.

I'm not 100% on this, but I don't believe there is a way to automatically replay the question audio on the answer side -- so if you want the same audio from question side to play on the answer, you need to edit your template to include the same field on the answer side itself, and not use {{FrontSide}} to do it, as the question audio from {{FrontSide}} is stripped out (though it will still expose a play button). So if in general replay is important to you, a quick edit of your card template (on Anki desktop) will get it done.

Otherwise, you can select "replay" from the menu, and if you have your options set to replay question with answer, it will play the question audio along with everything.

Thanks, Chajadan--that worked.  I modified the template, replacing {{FrontSide}} with {{audio}} (the name I use for the field that contains the audio files) in the answer side of the card.

(Previously I had *both* {{FrontSide}} and {{audio}} in the answer side, for some reason, and as a result two play buttons were shown next to each other, but the audio didn't play automatically.)
