Hello.

AnkiDroid is my first experience with any flashcard software. I have only been using it for a couple of days but really enjoy it.
However, there is one feature that I really think would contribute to its teaching ability, and that is the ability to flip the deck, reviewing the back of the card first.
It looks like the only way to do this is to sync, flip the card with the desktop program, and resync.

If you would like this feature, please respond to this thread and voice your position. I would most certainly make a contribution to the project if this is implemented.

Thank you.

I just want to point out that you may be able to do something like this with filtered decks (one of the buttons in the same row as stats on the deck intro page). I know you can filter decks based on tags, and generally on a search string. I believe you can search for a particular card by name, to filter for only those cards. The nice thing about filters is that it temporarily creates another deck based on the search that you can empty and rebuild. The cards are either in the home deck or in the filtered deck, but you can easily go back and forth. You just create two filtered decks, one for front first, one for back first, and then you can fill/empty them as needed. The assumes that the home deck simply has two card templates in it, one for each direction. Also, I'm only assuming the ability to filter by card type is present. Entering something like "card:FrontFirst" if you name the card template FrontFirst would pull up those cards.

Hello,

Switching the front and back in Anki depends on the card templates defined for the deck you are using.
As such, the is no plan to have a "Flip" button added at this time, as it depends on the way one's card
templates are defined.

The Anki manual describes how to configure this and it is currently something that is possible
only using the desktop version.

If the ability to edit the card templates were to implemented in AnkiDroid (it is not at the moment),
it will become possible to do the same without the desktop version, but I do not believe anyone
is planning on doing so at the moment.
