Android 12
Lenovo Lenovo Tab M10 (3rd Gen), model TB328FU
MicroSD card formatted as internal storage
AnkiDroid v. 2.16.5 automatically installed on SD card

After installation of AnkiDroid with following attempt to open the app have got error message “Failed to create AnkiDroid directory” (see attached picture).
Apps automatically installed to SD card can't be moved to main storage (maybe Android issue).

Hey there - sorry to hear this, obviously not the best experience.

Could I ask you to try the latest 2.17alpha to see if it fixes the issue? https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/releases - there has been some work in that area

If that does not fix it could you please create an issue for us with details so we can try to fix it? https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/issues/new/choose

Thanks -

-Mike

I already resolved the problem by installing v. 2.16.5 from github.com. I, of course, left a post there about the issue.
