dev mode and browser slowdown

Hello,
I use VSCode and Angular 8 under Linux and after a while in dev mode (ng s), the browser is getting slower and slower. If I close / open the browser, it will return to OK... for a while. I think the size of the project has an impact.
I wonder if there is a setting to limit this effect?
