I know I'm replying to a year old thread, but some people maybe would like to know a manual answer.
I have this Croatian "MaxTV To Go HD" app that checks if the OS is rooted when opening some TV channel streams.
It does that by simple trying if "su" is available. Other apps might do more.
I did
su -
mv /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/sucker
That solved it for this particular app.
From now on I elevate my privileges with "sucker -" on that system.
I did this because I wasn't able to find "magisk". At first I found old threads suggesting "supersu" which no longer seems to exist.
The option in developer options of ax86 didn't help in that regard.
Renaming su to another filename did.
