Unable to open log device 'main'

Hi Folks,

I have a device running on a QCOM chipset with Kernel msm-3.10 and Android M.

I am trying to upgrade my kernel msm-4.9. I am able get till adb devices.

adb devices lists my device. But, adb logcat is not working.

It shows Unable to open logcat device "main"

What is that to be changed in logging in system/core to support for kernel 4.9

/dev/log/main is not being created with kernel 4.9

What is the alternative to get the things working.
