Hello,

We need to test AAudio and Oboe on various devices and various versions of Android. So if YOU have published an app that uses Oboe, or AAudio directly, then please reply and include a link to your app in the Play Store.

It will help us catch problems before release. And it will help you because releases will be less likely to break your app.

Thanks,
Phil Burk

Hi Phil,

n-Track Studio supports AAudio directly. It currently defaults to OpenSLES though (I got bitten by the AAudio bug in 8.0), but AAudio can be selected in the Settings box.
Here's the link:

Cheers,
Flavio.

Flavio, thanks for letting us know.
You mentioned "the AAudio bug in 8.0" ... which specific problem did you hit?
Best wishes,
Glenn

It was a random crash in Java code:

Very bad... the stack was completely unrelated to anything I was doing.
It took me quite a while to figure it out.

Thanks Flavio. We'll add that to the list.

There was a reference counting bug in PlayerBase that affected AAudio. Fixed in 8.1.
Oboe will use AAudio for 8.1 and above. Otherwise it uses OpenSL ES.

Hi Phil,

As mentioned in their release notes, G-Stomper Rhythm uses AAudio on Android 8.1

Thanks. We have G- Stomper listed here:

Their app was very helpful during development of AAudio MMAP.

Hi Guys,
I have project with pitch shifting (resampling with wsola), It implemets on android NDK.
Since duration of pitch is ~20ms I can't use system recommended  parameters for fastpath. for example, for my device: SampleRate:48Khz and buffer size 240 samples. That means, duration time is 5ms (< pitch duration = 20ms).
Can I change fastpath ?
Can the resampling help ? I need to do processing in 8Khz.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello, I recently posted a GitHub sandbox/experiment app that utilizes oboe and other open source software. In process of AdMobs-based revenue Play Store release now. Java/NDK/C++ solution.

https://github.com/sorcerermiah/awa

Plan on doing a Flutter/Dart/oboe/CoreAudio solution along the same lines for non-open source, commercial version later.
