Oboe version 1.5, an abstraction library built on top of the NDK audio APIs AAudio and OpenSL ES, has just been released with many improvements.

Oboe is "a C++ library which makes it easy to build high-performance audio apps on Android. It was created primarily to allow developers to target a simplified API that works across multiple API levels back to API level 16 (Jelly Bean)."

Awesome! Fantastic work! Very impressive.

I will look into integrating into the Cinder Android fork.
