Hi

I am developing app that use GCM. A used a python sample for the server from the official guide (https://developer.android.com/google/gcm/ccs.html#python).
That works for about a week and  i was able to send notifications. But today it stops working and ends like this: http://pastebin.com/kFVEn82r

Any ideas what went wrong?

thank you

Marek

I experience the same issue.
Everything has been working correctly for months (C server + stunnel), but today, after sending xmpp auth request:
<auth mechanism="PLAIN" xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl">abc=</auth>
there is no answer from the connected GCM server, and the TCP connection gets cleared.
What is surprising is that using bad credentials leads to an answer (auth refused).
<failure xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl"><not-authorized/></failure>
I am not sure it is an SSL issue.
I have no idea about what went wrong really, neither.

Hey

Are you still facing this issue?
Is this problem reproducible? If yes, can you provide some details on how to reproduce the error, it would help is finding the cause and resolving the issue! Thanks.

If it is reproducible, can you try connecting to port 5237 and see if it repros there?  It would help with debugging the issue.

Hi,
Yes, I still face the issue, which is absolutely reproductible.
Actually, i try to reconnect every 10 seconds, and it always ends up the same way: after plain auth xmpp stanza sent, the server drops the connection about 20/25 seconds after.
There is no answer, not "project not whitelisted" or "authentification failed".
It makes the service unusable for me.
If I provide wrong credentials, GCM servers do answer.
I never witnessed such a behaviour since i started using GCM/CCS (about 5 month ago).
Maybe there is a problem with my Google account (although console doesn't show any trouble)?
Does anyone successfully use GCM/CCS as of now?
What kind of details do you need?
François.

Connecting GCM servers on tcp:5237 leads to a different behaviour.
There is answer from server at all, after
<?xml version="1.0"?><stream:stream to="gcm.googleapis.com" xml:lang="en" version="1.0" xmlns="jabber:client" xmlns:stream="http://etherx.jabber.org/streams">
is sent.

Sorry, did you mean "there is no answer"?

My fault here, port 5237 was closed ro remote conn, hence the "no answer".
Once opened, the initial issue is the same.

Thanks.  Do you have an idea of when this started failing? We're pushing an update right now that should be done in the next half hour that might fix the problem.
