Recommended levels for North Toe (North Carolina)

I just posted a trip report (below) suggesting the recommended levels for the North Toe are way-off (low) since Hurricane Helene. What is the proper procedure for updating these recommended levels?

Since Helene, it's been extremely difficult to correlate the two gauges previously used for the North Toe.
There is NO gauge on the North TOE, therefore, we use a combined estimate of the South Toe to be ABOVE 70 CFS and the Noliochucky gauge between 1000-4500 CFS.
With the Noli gauge not correlating FT. to CFS it's impossible to know if that gauge was within the necessary level.
I'm not sure if anyone has correlated FT to CFS on that river yet. That's the USGS's responsibility, and I'm not sure where that's at on their priority list.

Additionally, what did Rain Pursuit show for that watershed that day? With any given rainfall, you need to look precisely where it fell. Especially when surrogate gauges are used to determine runnability. Chances are it fell outside the North Toe watershed, which is why you got skunked
Here's a snapshot of today. Notice how some watersheds got pounded and others zilch!
You need to use multiple tools when chasing the rivers!

Jim,

We were looking at the SOUTH TOE RIVER NEAR CELO, NC gauge, which seems to be what that run was correlated against @ MAX 300CFS. One of our group said they could run it at 150 prior to Helene. Had not looked at  Rain Pursuit, will do in the future. There had been quite a bit of rain in the area the prior night and prior morning.

Who wants that nice shiny bottom on their kayak anyway!

There actually are a couple new gauges up there. https://fiman.nc.gov/?id=25210 and https://fiman.nc.gov/?id=30698

We'll work on getting those into our system if possible.
