With no rain in the forecast and an air temperature well into the '70s, we had 25 NFBC registered cyclists show up at Main Beach this morning to go for a bike ride. We also welcomed a group of at least six members of the Camden Cycling Club, a new Amelia Island rider who tried (and failed) to register on the NFBC.us webpage, and several non-registered regulars. So that was a big, happy, good-looking group of cyclists, as you will see from the photos attached.
We did have an entertaining mishap as the group saddled up to leave the Ft Clinch rest stop, as a regular rider among us (who shall remain unnamed) tumbled over into the mud with no serious consequences, just a skinned knee and some laughs. Most importantly, the bike was okay! Been there, done that--except for maybe the mud part.
Thanks go out to Mike L and Peter B for taking the reins of leading and watching out for those who needed some assistance or guidance, or just somebody else to have fun with. And thanks to all who came out to ride with us on this balmy January day--brace yourselves for the return of winter next week!
