We had a group of 7 plus Susan and Don T stopping by ( if you are wondering why the number in the photo is larger than 7).  Great Safety Briefing highlighting the important parts and sharing the positive new on Joe.  He is at UF Physical Health off Max Leggett Parkway.  Keep him in your thoughts and prayers and thank you Carol for all your help keeping us updated on Caring Bridge.  We got start a couple minutes late but quickly got caught up with a tail wind.  Most of the group followed the trail as we got on Big or Little Talbot.  Lee and I when we got to the south end of Talbot made the left under the Fort George bridge, under the bridge into the access parking lot and then looped back onto southbound Heckscher Dr.  No crossing the road needed. I did a U turn after that but I did not hear of any flats or mechanicals.  I have been able to find out anything about the Tall ship sitting off the St Johns entrance.  The Turtle presentation Susan T brought up is Tuesday June 10 at First Loves Brewery 6:00 to 8:00.  Good information about the renourishment details and how Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch are relocating Sea Turtle Nests.  Be sure to register at the link on Friends of Talbot Islands State Parks Face Book Page.

I will be able to lead next Tuesday morning 6/10.
Stay Safe.

Thanks, Doug, for leading today, for the excellent safety briefing and ride report, for recommending the Friends of Talbot Islands sea turtle presentation on June 10 at First Love...and especially for the fantastic photo of the four-mast tall ship!  Don and Patti saw it yesterday, on their way back from JAX, in essentially the same location.  I have also searched to no avail to find out just who or what that beautiful ship is!  Though the aft mast is a little low, the Spanish training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano is a possibility.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_training_ship_Juan_Sebastián_de_Elcano.  Or maybe a Star Flyer or Clipper luxury cruise ship?  https://www.starclippers.com/us-dom/.

Rich Is that displacement correct? Seems a bit light for a 116 meter vessel. Could be made out a balsa wood!

I seriously doubt it, just copied what they had - most likely they meant metric tons, or 1000 kg units.

I wonder if crew will come ashore at Mayport, USA?!!

Too bad there's no local news coverage, AFAIK.
