Ok Folks!

If you are a member of the Alloy Group, your email address has been added to the Google Calendar, titled "Alloy". This is the first time I have ever created a calendar within Google, so please help me work out the kinks. After I added all of your email addresses, I got a notification that some members do not have a Google Calendar Account, and it asked me if I wanted to "Invite" you...I said yes. I suppose that is your choice...if you choose to accept it :)

At this time, I have added Dinner/Prayer, Home Church, the IFI dinner, and the Renegade lunch to the calendar. I have set you all up to be able to add events so if, for example, Paula wants to add her birthday event for the ladies, she can do that.

Again, please communicate with me if you don't feel this is the best option. I am willing to try or research anything. For now, I thought this might be easiest since it is tied into our email.

Thanks!
Whitney

Here is a link...not sure if it will work, if not you should be able to search our calendar Alloy, inside Google Calendars.

And, I suppose I should have expected this, but I just got 17 Return to Sender emails for the "invites". If you cannot get to the calendar, let me know. You can email me privately at whitney...@yahoo.com

Thanks!

The important date I can think of for the calendar is Thursday, June 16, which is family fun night (details to be worked out!) so parents will not need a home church babysitter that night.  And Xenos Summer Institute is July 13-15.  There is no home church the week of XSI since hopefully we’ll all be at the institute:  http://www.xenos.org/xsi  $15 for evenings only; $30 for day and night sessions.

Also remember that the weekly HC prayer meeting will now be at 200 E. Kelso (2 houses down from the McCormac house).  And here’s a prayer request: Eric is trying to get a variety of medications to take to Haiti for our missions trip in mid August.  It may seem like a simple thing, but suffice to say—it’s complicated to figure out how to acquire the various prescription medicines.  Some are pricey so we go through hospitals and other agencies to try to get meds—lots of paperwork and tracking down various leads.  The patients don’t have access to pharmacies because they live in very remote locations; the only medications they get are the ones we supply at the time they are seen.
And a BIG THANK-YOU to Whitney for getting the google group and google calendar going!

Vicky

It was very striking to walk down the hallway into CT yesterday and see the variety of ways our group was participating in CT ministry!  There was Nancy at the welcome booth, Evan and Bob at the snack bar and Whitney manning the microphone. Additionally we had Kevin and Kim (and others?) working Oasis, Jay and Paula doing childcare for our prayer meeting, and even had the emergency response team covered. The only thing we didn’t supply was a CT teacher! Way to go Alloy!! It was a pretty cool example of what Patrice taught from Nehemiah—each person doing their part to make the whole thing go.
