Everyone, I'm organizing and leading a Competitive Bike Rodeo next Monday, April 14, from 11 am to noon. It will be held on the paved basketball/sports court behind John Adams Elementary School.
This one-hour rodeo is a part of the John Adams Rec Center's Spring Break Program. The riders will be 4th to 6th graders, and we think there will be about 25 - 30 in all.
I'm looking for volunteers to help, please. It's kinda difficult finding enough because this is during a regular work week (even tho it's Spring Break for ACPS).
The "competitive" means that these riders will be graded on how well they go through several bike rodeo stations. A description is attached.
Please contact me if you can help, and please urge others to do so, as well. Note that no prior experience is required. I will be assigning volunteers to specific roles and providing instructions in advance, as well as at the event itself.
The time obligation would be from 10:15 -- to give us plenty of time to set up the course and go over operations before it starts at 11 -- until 12:15. The rodeo will close at noon, and we'll do the take down immediately after that.
Thank you for however you might be able to help me get enough volunteers, and I welcome questions or comments.
