Location: NEEDHAM, MA (ONSITE 5 DAYS A WEEK) (local IDs only)
Interview: 2 steps ( must be flexible to go onsite if needed)

Position Details:
- On-site requirement: 5 days/week in Needham to start.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong SDET background (not just QA).
- Must be able to write code and work alongside a team of developers.
- Python experience required.
- No current need for web UI or Selenium testing.
- Minimum 2 years of software development testing experience.
Technical Ecosystem:
- Mobile app communicates with a cloud-based service, which interfaces with the physical device.
- Middleware includes libraries that interact with both the robot and REST APIs.
- Understanding of infrastructure layers is important.
Team & Project Context:
- Team supports the Shark Clean app (robot vacuum product).
- Focus is on backend updates to the app with significant testing needs.
- Testing involves mobile devices and physical robot models.
- Team includes 2 SDET II’s leading efforts across different product lines (e.g., Ninja Grill, Shark).
- SDET I should be comfortable with:
- Test development and frameworks.
- Hands-on coding.
- App development or app-side testing.
- IoT experience is a plus.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will:
- Review and gain an in-depth understanding of our product requirements and software specifications
- Write and review automated tests to verify and validate our connected IOT products (vacuum robots and outdoor grills) using Python, JavaScript, REST APIs and Linux shell scripts
- Work directly with system architects and software developers to create testable requirements removing any ambiguity
- Develop and maintain CI/CD jobs and workflows for execution of automated tests
- Develop tools and utilities to extend and improve the automation test framework
- Understand SQA smoke, integration and regression test cycles to reduce repetitive or mundane manual tester tasks via automation.
- Work on site in a lab environment
Requirements:
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Well versed in coding concepts, able to write idiomatic Python code and can direct others in the same
- Help develop testing and strategies, automation
- Understands Cloud Computing concepts (AWS, Ayla, Google Cloud)
- Experience with app-based test development using Appium (ideally) or web-UI based testing with Selenium
- Well versed in CI/CD process and using Jenkins
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience with Defect Tracking Tools
- Experience with Jira or similar and Test Case Management Tools
- Attention to detail in everything you do
- Comfortable expressing a point of view to challenge conventional thinking
