COMPLAINT ON THREAT TO PERSON AND LIFE OF DR. YEMI OKE BY PRINCE BURUJI KASHAMU
I write this letter under a real apprehension of death and assassination by the agents of Prince Buruji Kashamu, the self-acclaimed Southwest Mobiliser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). I wish to bring it to the attention of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, that Prince Buruji Kashamu is after my life, and is quite determined to deploy his political thugs and killers-alike to terminate my life for handling some cases involving him and some members of the PDP in Ogun State
1) Background:
Our law office, MJS Partners has been briefed by certain individuals to sue Prince Buruji Kashamu as 1st Respondent in Suit No. FHC/AB/CS/19/2015-Dele Ajayi & Anor. Vs Prince Buruji Kashamu & 2 Ors, at the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, in which the Applicants are seeking an order of court to set-aside and/or nullify his (Prince Kashamu’s) nomination and election as candidate of the PDP for Ogun East Senatorial District, among others. The suit was also reported in the Punch Newspaper of Friday, February 27, 2015 at page 13, under a caption: “Senatorial bid: PDP members drag Kashamu to court”. Copy attached.
Our law firm has also just filed another suit at the Federal High Court, sitting in Abeokuta, though not related to the above, in which Prince Buruji Kashamu is sued as the 4th Respondent. The suit is in respect of the Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode Federal Constituency in Ogun State, and registered as Suit No. FHC/AB/CS/21/2015-Hon. Kayode Amusan v Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) & 3 Ors.
2) Threat of Harm/Violence on my Life by Prince Buruji Kashamu:
While at the Federal High Court, Lagos on Friday the 27th February, 2015 Prince Buruji Kashamu put a call through to my GSM number (0802-314-8096). Prince Kashamu called me through his GSM number (0806-004-4414) at 11:59 am.
Prince Kashamu threatened me using the following words:
Yemi; so you have sued me. You are mad. You are crazy. I will deal ruthlessly with you. I will teach you bitter lessons of your life in this country. I will show you who I am. You will regret doing this. You will be dealt with by my guys. Mark my words, you will hear from me soon. I have instructed my guys to handle you.
3) My Response:
Immediately the threat was made, I alerted my families as well as friends and well-wishers on my facebook account. I also sent an SMS message to Prince Kashamu’s line that he should never threaten me in his life, and that I never handled any case for him to warrant conflict of interest. I made it clear that, as a lawyer, I was merely doing my job within the confines of the law of the country. I informed him that I will make a former complaint to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria and other security agencies.
4) Prince Kashamu’s political profile:
Prince Buruji Kashamu is a known political figure with huge followership. He has capacity to carry out his threats. He moves about with a retinue of political thugs, aids, and security agents. He is a prominent politician with extensive influence and financial capability to get away with virtually anything in Nigeria. This is the reason why I’m writing this petition to the Nigerian President and the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, given my dual citizenship, to step into the matter. I know for a fact that Prince Buruji Kashamu is about to carry-out the threat. A copy of my Canadian citizenship certificate is herewith attached.
5) My Appeal:
By the medium of this complaint, I wish to place on records that, should anything untoward happen to I, YEMI OKE; the thugs, security officers, and/or miscreants of Prince Kashamu and their principal, PRINCE BURUJI KASHAMU himself should be held wholly responsible.
I therefore, most sincerely, appeal to you to use your good offices as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Representative of the Canadian Government in Nigeria, to cause a thorough investigation to be made into this complaint.

So, when PVC distribution was clearly skewed to
favor a section where a preferred candidate came from, that
was an excuse? Even when it was obvious Jega was not ready
to conduct a credible election, it was an excuse that reason
prevailed over partisanship?
BTW, does it not seem strange that war-torn NE
had more PVC distribution than peaceful SW? Who were the
PVCs distributed to? Displaced or dead persons? Or were they
just handed over en bloc to the emirs as PDP
alleged?
