Joe Attueyi:

From what I know/understand, PNB's economic goals are about the prudent management of land, labor, capital and technology for the greatest good of the greatest number of Nigerians within the national and global economic environments that he inherited from the previous administration.

(1) About land, he has articulated a policy of less dependence on oil, and more dependence on agriculture and solid minerals.

(2) About labor, he has articulated that he expects the new "land" emphasis to naturally lead to more employment, coupled with conditional cash transfer work-fare of N5000 - 15000 for the "uunemployed".

(3). For capital where there is greatest challenge due to drastically reduced oil earnings, he has articulated an austere (and TSA-monitored) government spending, a capital-weighted 2016 budget, an anti-corruption-induced recovery of "official" loot, and a deficit-budget financed by taxes and (possibly) pension funds and the capital market to fund infrastructure.

(4) for technology. Emphasis on ICT-driven economy, and diversified primary and secondary energy sources, particularly electricity.

I am sure that you are also wondering about the fiscal and monetary policy. Well, they are all to aid the above four policies in a manner to preserve the strength of the Naira, and conserve our foreign reserves - I repeat myself.

There is a lot of dynamics in the world in terms of energy economics and security/terrorism concerns, both at home and abroad, so there needs to be patience on the side of Nigerian citizens, and discipline and focus on the part of the political leadership, in the midst of a highly partisan and divisive political environment.

If you need any more information, let me know.

There you have it.

Ezeana Igirigi Achusim:

Joe Attueyi asked for some education on PMB's economic goals; I attempted to provide some; but Joe A. seems to have disappeared on me on that one...

So I am happy that you came back on his behalf.  So let me address you briefly:

You like the plans, ehn?  Well, I copied them from Buhari's plans; in fact, they are his.  Only the un-jaundiced and un-biased though will see that all that I wrote are from PMB's plans.

Even if you forwarded this to him, you have to go and oversee their implementation.

I don't have to go to implement them...it was he who won the election, so why should I be overseeing "implementation?".In any case, they are already being implemented, you are just too jaundiced and biased to see it.

Prof Chiwuikem:

You be Professor too, no?

Moving on....

What did PMB disown?  Must have been exaggerations put out by exhuberant aides and oppositional elements, NOT the land-labor-capital-technology economic-goals quartet that I re-packaged below, which map into his traditional security-anticorruption-employment broad pillars.

Finally, I invite you (and others) to invest in one of these export possibilities, instead of abusing everybody and his mother - you won't go wrong.  Since you come from near Aba, one of them is right up your alley. :-)

Prof. Aluko,

Why the emphasis on exports? Have we satisfied domestic capacity in these items you listed below? Just curious.

John Ebohon:

You are absolutely right: as in China, the first effort should be to RAMP up these products as IMPORT SUBSTITUTES to prevent use of scarce foreign reserves.  We should be talking of BOTH preserving foreign reserves (by import substitution) and EARNING them (through exports.

In fact, there are two programs of note for production of goods:

  (1) One-LocalGovernment-One-Product OLOP  (launched by the previous administration, or even earlier)

  (2) One-State-One-Product OSOP (this administration)

In the spirit of your question, I therefore presume we should be talking of two exports - internal and external

   (1)  LocalGovernment 1 to LocalGovernment 2 (an "internal" export)
   (2)  State 1 to State 2 (an "internal" export)
   (3)  Nigeria to Other Countries (external export)

And there you have it.

My Prof and able VC Aluko,

I am not a professor. I do not know your plan/s in calling me a professor, as you know when they want to kill a four runner, a Bingo (small chi Wawa) they will first give it a big name and then commence in the killing. I will repeat I am not a professor as a matter of fact I am not a teacher period.

Also for your information, I am already into Palm Oil (produce) as that is the trade of my forefathers and fathers before them.

Yes, Buhari said a lot during the campaigns and looking at his 2016 budget as submitted (not resubmitted), I am telling you that he is working all back.

Brother OJ,

First thing, a big laugh! Hehehe!

Above citation is just the stuff that really makes me puke. Nigerian so called educated class does not CEASE to amaze me. So, EXPORT business is NOW categorized into local to local govt trade and or INTERSTATE COMMENCE. So, based on the above referenced citation, now, that INTERSTATE Commerce is "EXPORT" as in "State 1 to State 2 (an "internal" export)" - what do we you call "interstate" commerce? Hehehehe!

Nigeria, seriously, too know na him dey kill us. My bad! Lololo! Interstate Commerce is NOW known amongst Nigerian Elites as "'export' internal", Hehehehe! Wow! Lord help me understand my people! Ise!

Stay tuned! Iguade

I too am laughing belle-fully - at you!

You seem to believe that you have discovered the term "inter-state commerce" .  Yes, that is thinking "within the box" - and it includes products that simply pass THROUGH a state or states, including international imports.  The OLOP and OSOP programs clearly include "inter-state commerce", but there is expected to be a SPECIFIC identification of products best produced by specific local governments and states, and cooperation between these LGs and states (including their governments) to purchase the goods so produced.

So stop laughing - and I will join you there.

And there you have it.

"Internal" export as used by Bolaji Aluko should not cause any controversy as internal is in parenthesis in "internal" export.

I have no problem with you laughing and believing "whatever".

However, I have SERIOUS problem with ANYONE attributing "a believe" to me, as you just did "You seem to believe that you have discovered the term 'inter-state commerce'" [boldface, italics are mine]

To be clear, there is NO "seem to believe" on my part, but on yours, VC Aluko's part. You said what you said. VC Aluko "believe" that I believe, when I NEVER offered such a twisted believe you believe I believed.

Yes, it is a laughing matter. Sir, if you are confused or do not understand my take, I am glad to serve, by explaining myself further. Thank you, sir.

Wilson:

I enjoy your episodic trivialization of important national issues, but here I want to re-emphasize three points:

(1). PMB has economic and developmental goals consistent with the harsh national and international economic times that he inherited. The old regime would inherited these same times, except that the national ones caused specifically by them would have been obsured.

(2) Proper emphasis on Land, labor, capital and technology, shored up with a focused and disciplined leadership that has made security, anti-corruption and employment its three pillars can lead us out of our present economic predicament. It won't be easy, but "Yes, we can!"

(3) Interstate commerce is as important as international trade; import substitution is as important as external export earning in foreign reserve preservation and increase, and hence in currency strength maintenance.

(4)  (a) Cross-River State to Cameroon border is much closer than (b) Cross-River is to Kebbi State.  Why does one qualify as international export, and the other.

And there you have it.

VC Aluko,

You said "Wilson: I enjoy your episodic trivialization of important national issues, but here I want to re-emphasize three points:"

And then you proceeded to list 3 points that I have taught or enumerated thousands time in the fora, which is fully documented in the archives.  For example, in your 3 things, you no longer use your "internal" Export category, but used "interstate commerce" that I corrected you on.

Here is my real response. You are NOT the spokespeople for Buhari and since you resided in the USA for an extended period of time, and I assume mingled with Americans - you will understand THOROUGHLY when I say yours below is ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT to me (Again, you know I did not insult or curse, just describing my reaction to your post).

Again, you, VC Aluko, DO NOT speak for Buhari administration as far as I, Wilson Iguade, is concerned. Others may rely on your postings to be informed on Buhari administration, count me out. PERIOD!

Second, I do not regard you as an expert on business matters, not when you eloquently informed this audience of your cockamamie description of EXPORT Trade with a category known as "internal" export, Hehehehe! Lord have mercy!

VC Aluko, please speak on Otueke Federal University, and I would listen and give your opinion on Otueke University the utmost RESPECT. Otherwise, on other subject matters, especially on Buhari, which you are NOT a recognized member of his cabinet, it is your 2 cents, just like mine.

And here is my opinion: Buhari is a THIEF, tell him, if you will, I call him a thief and a Despot. Buhari needs to be in prison for what he did to Nigerians by breaking laws and taking out a DULY ELECTED govt that set the country back a generation. So, as I have so well documented, just the way Buhari and his goons overthrew Shagari, I continue to pray Buhari govt is removed given am taught what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

VC Aluko, I strongly suggest you focus on managing your PUBLIC JOB, and stop disseminating garbage on Buhari that you know nothing about. If you want me to believe you and not be episodically trivializing "of important national issues". Tell me when you were in the ministers or cabinet meeting with Buhari preceding?

Otherwise, continue to "enjoy your [my] episodic trivialization of important national issues, ..." because such information is coming from sources I do not find credible, full stop.

Sir, VC Aluko, I am NOT a low information citizen or voter. Your assumption about my person is misguided, perhaps mine of you is equally misinformed. Thanks for your time. God bless, and peace be with you. Iguade

I told you so. Buhari does not have any economic policy and what you have been doing is just your own thinking which to me does not translate as/into economic policy.  Right now if something is not done immediately, Nigeria is going down.

Yes they will blame Jonathan, and you will join them to do that. That is okay. In 1966, propaganda killed millions of Nigerians (Easterners) and today, the present Nigerian government is using propaganda as an instrument of governance. Yesterday it was $20 billion in one ex-ministers bank account, $2.1 billion with Dasuki and today it is $1.3 billion missing as Liar Mohammed said. Lets see what they will say next week.

I hate to tell you this, Wilson is correct and you of all the people should know that. Today the Budget is submitted or withdrawn and/or resubmitted, Finance Minister has not gone to the national Assembly to defend the budget neither has she said any thing about policy. The currency is heading south with speed and all is Jonathan's fault.

Well if people like you can not see these as problem, my brother Aluko, may God help us. Nigeria is not the only country with oil, others are working had to find a solution or handle their economy, their experts talking, debating, proffering solutions but who is talking in Nigeria? Aluko is here on the net trying to sell snake oil to us.
Where are our Soludos, Ngozis, Utomis, Economic/Business professors etc.? Are they anywhere near this government?

They tell us that Jonathan and his people were/are the worst but he Jonathan and his people are all over the world receiving awards, appointments and/or accolades.
We are all watching, keep the spinning going my VC.

What a waste of time and profound rigour..i think it would be worthwhile to gather kids at sunset for a round of tales by moon-light..‎I'm so sorry u went through all these for nothing..the best part for me is the assertion that the overthrow of Shagari's Government set us back a decade..it's d same as saying GEJ should have continued to rule us as President..Hear this...Even Shagari was so relieved that power was taken away from him to save his face..At that juncture; the President simply had lost it and d country was going downhill.. Nigeria was saved then as it was saved again on April 11 2015..
Peace out..

Soliloquy

NOUN

  1. an act of speaking one's thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play... Oxford Dictionaries

Thank you professor, you got me. I did not say the sky is falling rather I said you as a VC should assemble some Economics and Business professors and match them to Abuja for some serious consultations with GMB else as you said " The Sky is falling, the sky is falling... $1.00 = N310.00 today.

There should be no military coup. There should be a popular uprising that will force Buhari and his Deputy to resign.

Haba VC Aluko,

Here you used the word "soliloquy". Isn't that a bit too much for someone who read only Engineering and never Shakespeare? How is Mazi Ezeana supposed to handle that?
