My People:

In the past five years, I  have used the following airports in Nigeria:

1. Lagos MM Airport
2. Abuja NA Airport
3. Ilorin Airport
4. Owerri Airport
5. Kano Airport
6. Warri Airport
7. Akure Airport (when it was open)
8. Ibadan Airpport
9. PH Airport

And I can testify that the PH airport is the worst of them in terms of facilities. I came through the airport four days ago, and I will be passing through there again tomorrow.  In fact it got worse with time, until recently when the DEPARTURE lounge was open.

In those same years, I have been to over fifteen airports in America (North and South), other parts of Africa (Morocco, South Africa and Ethiopia), Europe (UK, France, Italy, etc) and Asia (South Korea, China), and none of the Nigerian airports compares favorably with the out-of-country ones.  

With gratitude to God, I have taken off and landed safely in all of them...but that is not the issue here.

I was in New York recently, and the JFK is nothing to shout home about. It was dirty and I could not use the toilet, as someone outside can easily see in the cabin. While not condoning Port Harcourt Airport, as I have not been there, most times, we undermine ourselves.

I hope we are not comparing JFK to Port Harcourt. If Port Harcourt can boast of the worst part of JFK we will be celebrating.
