Now, I know why Vin Otuonye is fully messed up. He cooked and ate some of his own fallen brothers during Biafra war. I used to think that it is only DOGS that Iyanminrin IGBO love to eat, I didn't know say they fit go cemeteries for free meat.

I forwarded Dr. Gloria Johnson's MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYBODY post to a wider audience with her logo and Vin Otuonye called me Gloria Johnson also.

He probably ate too much of human flesh in the late 1970s.

   A memoir on the meals that made      Biafra live ;

 

Awo ( toads)  for a meal, is today,  like Biafra, a state of the mind,  that cannot die. 
In Biafra, we lived by the river banks in  some ,  that hatched toads, and made some green leaves we never knew could be foods, until Pa Awo forced us to.

Frogs, toads, mice, lizards , rats, lizard eggs, snakes and their eggs , wild leaves, and nearly millipedes AND earthworms, if they had tasted good ,  were foods and our lives then in Biafra.

They were our meals  since we refused to eat our fellow kids' thighs and legs , arms.
The kids that  died by the acts of Awolowo,  the man that made Kwasiokor .

We  did eat them, young , old, dead and alive , so we can grow an inch taller , so we could  join the people's army .

We did indeed eat them all, ants, flies, wasps, bees, grasshoppers , so we could live too , and make Awo, the Yoruba man, feel bad, that we survived Biafra.

It was Awo's war, a war that could not withstand the sight of Biafran living children, women and pregnant ones too. They wanted us, Biafran children and women dead, so there will not be any Igbo to do this ,
Tell that lizard thighs tasted like today's chicken breasts .

You can say how you survived the war, eating steaks, and rice and beans and eggs,
Drinking Pronto , kettle tea and Bongo brand of coffee.
Telling how you bathe with Imperial lather soap .
I will, as in my mind, tell how cassava leaf and lemon grass became the most Bounvita and  " over tea" we had.
A hungry man that wants to live , would eat pork. Most kids that survived Awolowo did eat awo and lizards and ants.
