One of the victims that were rescued by the police at Soka forest, Ibadan, Oyo State, which is believed to be a ritual killers’ den, said she was kidnapped in September 2013.

The victim, whose name is being withheld for security purpose, is currently recuperating with seven other victims in Adeoyo Hospital, Ibadan.

No fewer than 20 decomposing bodies were discovered in the forest on Saturday, while about 23 others were rescued alive.

They were taken to different hospitals in the city, with eight of them – four men and four women – in Adeoyo Hospital.

The woman, who was still weak from her experience, told PUNCH Metro that she knew she left her home in September and since then could not remember anything until Saturday when she was rescued.

She said, “I remember that I left my home in Okebola and was going to Challenge. I entered a taxi and that is the only thing I can remember until police rescued us yesterday (Saturday).”

When asked whether she did not see her captors killing people and selling their parts, she said, “I think such thing happened, but it did not really register because my mind was blank.

“I can recollect seeing people falling down, I can remember that some were taken away and they never returned, but really, it did not mean anything to me until Saturday. It was as if I woke up from a slumber.”

At this point, the victim countenance changed as if she went into a trance. Many questions asked by our correspondent went unanswered.

PUNCN Metro also observed that other victims were yet to regain their full strength.

They muttered words that were disjointed, but the nurses said they would regain full mental and physical ability.

They said two days of treatment was not enough to cure them completely, having been chained and maltreated for a long time.

No doctor was around to attend to our correspondent, but it was gathered that two of the victims were able to give their names.

Families, youths visit forest

Families whose members had been missing on Sunday besieged the forest where captives, skulls and decomposing bodies were found with the hope of finding them there.

One of such is the Oguntade family. The family spokesman, Kehinde, said their father, Isaac Oguntade, 95, left home in the Gbongan area of Osun State on December 31, 2013, but never returned.

“He is an old man, but still strong. He was a retired teacher and he was going to a bank on Osogbo Road on the day we last saw him.

“We have searched everywhere in vain. When we heard of this discovery, we came down to see if our father could be one of the victims, but we could not find him here,” said Kehinde.

A police report, dated January 14, 2014 and signed by one Inspector Akinlade Lawrence, confirmed his claim.

Also, hundreds of angry youths visited the forest, unleashing mayhem on visitors and herdsmen who graze their cattle in the area.

Our correspondent, who visited the forest on Sunday, saw the youths slaughtering and sharing cow meat and vandalising vehicles.

One of such vehicles with Lagos number plate, MK 126 AAA, belongs to a presenter with Splash FM. He also sustained injury with a deep cut on his head.

The youth also attacked security men of a company situated close to the area of the discovery. At the junction linking the road to the narrow forest, a man had been burnt to death. Eyewitnesses said he was linked to the operators of the camp.

A large number of adult and kids clothes and shoes were at the scene, while mats and other household items were found inside some of the rooms in the building where the captives were reportedly kept.

Oyo reacts

However, a statement from the Oyo State Police Command stated that a man had been arrested in connection with the discovery, while arms and ammunition were also discovered at the scene.

It reads in part, “Incident report on murder/ unlawful possession of firearms about 1730 hrs yesterday (Saturday). Information received at tollgate division that behind the Oyo State urban mass transport yard, Soka area Ibadan, some area boys, about 100, invaded the area, searching for two missing cyclists. They discovered an uncompleted compound where two women and five men were found chained and looking unkempt.

“Some decayed corpses and skeletons were also found in a nearby bush. The scene was visited and one Abideen Akanmu was arrested. He said he was employed by one Gbadamosi, now at large, to take care of the destitute found there. Victims evacuated to hospital, while a corpse was deposited at same hospital mortuary for autopsy.

“Five security men in a nearby company were also arrested and the following items were recovered from them – three single-barrelled gun, one  bow, 16 arrows,  22 cutlasses,  40 life cartridges, seven table knives, two axes,  two iron files and one phone.

“Angry mob set the security post ablaze but the fire was put out. The State Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the discovery.”

Residents who spoke to our correspondent said there was enough evidence to conclude that the place was for ritual killing.

One of them, who identified himself as Comrade Rasheed, said, “We have searched the whole forest and found strange things. There are decomposing bodies of people and more than 50 skulls.

“There are houses in the forest and no one lives there. We saw a man who claimed to be a student of a university, but on close examination, we found out that he was not mentally alright. The police should not conclude that the place is where mad people were treated.”

One of the volunteers, Abiodun Olaniyi, said a man approached them with a gun, but disappeared into the forest when he saw the huge crowd.

“A woman we found there said she had given birth to children for her captives. We rescued many people who were still alive and a dead body in the septic tank.

Another resident, Kolawole Falana, said,“I was hit with the butt of a gun by the police. They did not allow us to break a slab and see if people were kept underground.”

The fate of these poor Nigerians should worry us all. Even more so as one of tortured and emaciated but fortunately rescued ladies says she is from...Edo state and was kidnapped in Edo state. A conclusion here: Yoroba kidnappers also operate beyond their region. Kidnapping their victims in other regions and smuggling them back into yorobaland where they get tortured and sacrificed for...MONEY.

Money rituals !!! Historically,  a typical yoroba thing in Nigeria.

Really, there's NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING worse on mother Earth than the passion for  money of HYPOCRITES. The exact case with the yorobas.

For money, the yorobas will stick it deep into their daughters, awure style, until these girls bleed, so easy fortunes can come their way without sweating.

They will kidnap, torture and cut their victims up in tiny pieces all so they can make some money without having to labor for it.

They will kill their mamas for some dollars as the yoroba guy who got his own mother killed so he can have the foreign currencies she came back from the USA with. (May have to repost that one again.)
They will blindly and rabidly loot the federal offices they are given to run and turn around, tighten their asses and point their soiled and dripping fingers elsewhere.

Oga Ken, one would be naive underestimating what the GREED of hypocrites can get them to do. And with the yorobas, cowardice, untrustworthiness, wobbliness, bonelessness, hypocritical greediness...are all added to their already charged repertoire of abjectness. 

A morally DIRTIER people than the yorobas? You cannot find. At least, NOT in Africa.

So, there is no doubt about this,
Yorobas are morally and physically DIRTY.
 

And also by far, they remain morally and physically, the DIRTIEST of Nigerians.   They simply win, in both tables of lowliness.

Stop the baseless excuses; I don't recall your rebuttal/redirection. My point though, is that we, as Nigerians, fight have all kinds of fights on our hands; and we must respond quickly to stamp away these ritualists. But people like Afis and/or Jerome Niang Yakubu are always seeking to ask others to remove the speck on their eyes, when in fact, they have a huge plank on their own eyes. Just look at the picture below, that is not in the South East. ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State Police Command, yesterday, said it had nabbed a 38-year-old man, Adelani Ayomide, with a bag containing 18 human skulls.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, said the suspected ritualist was arrested at 6:48am, yesterday, on Ado-Odo, Owode Road by policemen attached to a division in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.

Adejobi said: "Policemen attached to Ado-Odo Division, while on a stop-and-search exercise along Ado-Odo Owode Road sighted a pedestrian, Adelani Ayomide, 38, of Ilaro, Ogun State with a bag containing 18 human heads.

"The suspect will be transferred to the state department of investigation, Eleweran Abeokuta, for discrete investigation.

"The Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye has assured of a thorough investigation and that he will make sure the suspect faces the full wrath of the law and assist in getting other suspects in connection with the crime."

Meantime, four Policemen have been honoured by Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, in the state.

Those honoured yesterday, include Muyiwa Adejobi; Officer in charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state, Ahmed Tijani, and two Police Officers at Agbara and Ogijo, Ayodele Sonubi and Toyin Afolabi, respectively.

Speaking at the event, which was held at Police Officer's mess, GRA, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, the state Chairman of PCRC, Chief Moshood Sule, commended the command and its officers' performance in the state.

Don't conclude yet. Recall how you jumped into conclusions when a baby factory was discovered in Akure. Not until I pointed it out to you that it was actually ran by an Igbo who relocated from Imo State. Recall also the latest discovery of a baby factory in Akute. It is also being run by an Igbo woman!

Now, in this particular instance, unconfirmed reports have it that Owelle Rochas commissioned a few Igbo elements who kidnap and kill innocent Yorubas for ritual purposes. We learnt that he needs regular blood and human parts to sustain his APC government in power.

Though seemingly far fetched, Rochas closeness to Ibadan coupled with his regular visits to the ancient town lends some credence to the report.

Probably, the site equally serve the regular occult needs of his fellow APC governors as they are all steeped in ritual and human sacrifice.

Warnings to the innocent people of Osun and Ekiti states: please watch your back as ritualists commissioned by the outgoing governors are on the prowl! The embattled governors need human parts to win the upcoming elections by all means.

Federal government should get involved together with the local authorities and stop the madness of evil ritualistic killing of innocent citizens and non citizens at will. The federal government should decree laws that eliminate any traditional doctors, ritualist, their agents, cults societies and politicians involved in such dirty despicable, ridiculous killings and those that patronize such evil sale of human parts in and within the country. Let them do it fast and deploy soldiers for the clean up not corrupt police forces one cannot trust. This is absolutely evil, and devastating. Save the innocent citizens and sanitize the ugly environment and stop the evil Yoruba killings at all cost. Both the syndicates of these ridiculous human killings, the traditional ritualistic doctors, the killers and anybody found in possession of human parts should be put to sleep. Yorubas are very good in these evil, depicable, ugly and mindless business.

Ifa is a very commplex system and authentic Babalawo must go through years of learning after PINODU to be able to decode these poems used when they "da Ifa". Many Babalawo just crammed what was passed to them orally without understanding how to decode those Oriki. These are the once commiting crimes. Anyone who takes the life of another except in self diffence is a criminal.
Let see an extract from Ejiogbe when a couple arrives to find out how to be able to have a achild, based on my research academically into Ifa:

 

A difa fun Ogoteere.
Ni ijo ti n gbogun lo ehin ilu Iwanran.
Peki ta a ba pade.
Odidi enia la e sofe je.

 

which in some ways can be translated thus:
We "da Ifa" for Ogoteere.
On the day he carried war to the back on the Iwanran town.
For who did we met on the road?
A whole human being is almost free to be (just a near interpretation ) becuase it could be prounced as almost to eat free.
This is where the danger is. Nevertheless, Ogoteere (long glory) means  means "penis" from which life is given out and "gbogun lo ehin ilu Iwanran " means the one which during the ritual for life (sexual act) receives life that is the "vagina". The real Babalawo will "da Ifa" on the penis without the man getting naked and the Vagina without the woman getting naked to see if they are capable of producing and processing life. Then the poem said on the road they met someone and it is  a whole human being they carried. Ignorant Babalawo will think that they must kill someone, that is not correct, the poem is saying that they earned a human being that is they can have a child.
It is very necesarry that Yoruba curriculum all Yorubaland contain the reading of Ifa poems in the primary schools, then from third year in the seconday school deeper codes be explained to the school children so that if anyone decides to be Onifa or Awo, they will not kill human being becuase in Yoruba cosmology killing human being can backfire on the people. Just as I recommend to Yoruba schools where all students Yoruba or not must learn, other Nationalities like Edo, Urhobo and Igbo should do the same with their version of Ifa.

Thank you, Otiti.  Don't mind caterwauling scallywags talking shit about tradition.  There is as much evil perpetrated in the bible as in any faith.  It is important to note that Ifa has 4 main items used in sacrifice and they are eku(rat) eja(fish),  eye (bird) and eran (goat).  I dare him to go try and see if he can stop traditional worship.  And how can he when most of the pastors pay nocturnal visits to the same babalawo they condemn during the day. Bah humbug!

The Urhobo call it Evba. There is a great commonality, they are the same, the different is the form and the different is due to the environment. There are many types of Ifa for example Orunmila which is

form palm kernel, Obi (kola) of four leaves, the cowries and surpassingly "ile" the soil. If you tell babalawo that Jesus Christ bent down and made some drawings on the soil before standing up to tell the accusers of Magdalene that who has no sin must throw the first stone and then bent down again and when stood up later told her to go and sin no more, the will tell you Ile Tite ni . Ile Tite is an Ifa arranged on the soil. They will say the man you are talking about was an Awo. Even what happened to Moses in Sinai is what Yoruba Awos will call PINODU. The power was given to Moses from there.

Let us campaign to revive them for our people.

I am like a son to Prof. Wande Abimbola, One of the books I used in research is his which he gave to me the night I challenged (as a son) his version of Yoruba History , I remember him telling after I told him that he could not separate Yoruba History from that of mankind,he said (nwon o so fun wa ninun alo, nwon o so fun wa ninun itan pe ibo mirin ni a ti wa). I laughed a los that night. His senior wife was our guest in Argentina in 1992 when she came with Iya Sango of Ibadan and in 1993 with Iya Osun of Lagos who brougth her son for me to settle in Argentina. The young man now is setteld inthe North of Argentina married and Argentina wife with children. He is Babalawo. Two months ago he told me on facebook ( Baba, owo nyin ni mo gba wa si Argentina, e jowo a si odo mi, mo dupe pupo). I also visited him in Oyo and spent a night there when he was running for governorship, his senior wife heard that I was in Nigeria and came to get me ith her driver and Iya Sango in Ibadan was very happy to see me. Later I went to Ile Ife where I spent every weekend with my late friend Dr. Omotoso Eluyemi and Archaeologist and The Apena of Ife.

Prof Abimbola came to Argentina few years ago with his white wife and the Senior Orisa priestess and very good friend of mine held a diner in his honour. I ordered all Yoruba boys in town to be there to recive him. As usual when I am with him, I make sure he is not bored. I told the Baba that the images of three Pharaohs looked like Yoruba and three look like Urhobo, typical of him , he said "Odo wa ni nwon ti lo", that is they left our land. I laughed that night.

When I read people like Ola Kassim and JoeI making a mockery of Ifa, I laugh them, they are locked into the box the white man built for them. Chief Eluyemi who lead a team that discovered and 8000 year old boat by lake Chad , a boat which is said to be older that the one found in Northern Europe and more advanced in the way it was built, he also discovered some ancient relic in Ile Ifa, this guy was an Ifa Priest and was our guest three time in Argentina, the first time with the Ooni of Ife and the late Obi Okagbue of Onithsa. JoeI and Ola Kassim think that they are the only people connected to science and come out baselessly to condemn Ifa.

They are ignorant and they will remain so. As for Ola Kassim I am not surprised because a so called Yoruba man from the land of Orunmila campaigning to impose homosexuality in our homeland is a proof of a cursed man. As for JoeI from Agenebode, I am just too disappointed that the guy did not even have a notion of his heritage an how his ancestors survived and resisted the jihadist.

Kidnappers are known to keep victims in churches, with the knowledge of pastors.  Oh, the brother whose penis was chopped off at Ufuma prayer house would still be alive if he had gone to a shrine. Charlatans abound in every religion. The Ogwugwu Okija “operators” were not practicing Odinani; they were feeding on the fears of little-faith Christians! These murderous criminals harvesting and selling human body parts (as in Otokoto) have not been linked with any traditional religion. I bet they attend some corner church and pay tithes with blood money--as do our politicians, including those who build houses for God!

 

Instead of putting down our ancestral creed, we should try to reform it in line with present realities. The great thing about Odinani is that it can coexist with any religion. In Odinani, we do not proselytize, and we do not force anyone in anyway to follow dictated revelations. Check this out: If Jesus were Igbo, he would have broken Kolanut with the apostles, not bread; drank palm wine, not vine wine.

 

Christianity has not solved all our problems; it would hurt no one to return to our religious roots while clutching our Bibles. We have more Igbo idioms than  there are proverbs in the Bible, more parables, and more stories. If we keep reading and regurgitating 2000 years of Hebrew history, who is going to tell our ~7000 years of history? We had a recent war no one wants to talk about, not even  hold the Ike Nwachukwus accountable, yet we know all about David, Uriah, womanizing but wise Solomon, etc. Who is going to teach/preach the heroics of Chuma Nzeogwu, Tim Onwuatugwu, Chris Okigbo, Linus Iheanacho, etc. etc.

Get off your lazy couch, and get the word Yoruba spelling right. If thousands of your igbo people could not be consulted for a proper spelling, a smart effort to google it would have helped you with correct spelling by the time you key in the third alphabet. But since you can't make a fake product out of the name, you couldn't go to the extent of ensuring the 'mix' was right.

How we ever got to living together was the greatest mistake of the century.
