The Greek name for Jesus Christ is Ιησούς Χριστός - pronounced Iousous Christos. There is NO letter J in Greek alphabets. Jesus is the Roman translation of Iusus (no letter J in Latin alphabets) for the Hebrew Yeshua.

Hence the Likate plaque on the head of the cross INRI, meaning Iesus Nazerenus Rex Iudaorum (Jesus of Nazereth King of the Jews). 

Christ is also shortened Latin for Christus.
