Engineers Australia have updated their logo and branding policy and as such we will need to slightly modify the AEES logo to meet their requirements.

In a similar way to how the Australian Government made their branding uniform (where the department name/logo is placed beside the coat of arms) the EA hexagon will still be displayed alongside the AEES name/logo, but the hexagon cannot be integrated into our logo.

We will come up with some options to meet these guidelines, but this might be a good opportunity to bring in an engineering element to complement the seismogram. If any members would like to submit design concepts or elements, please email me in the next week and we will consider them during the design process.

Thanks, Adam.

Just another step in the centralisation of our lives so that an ever smaller number of so-called leaders can exercise control over an ever larger portion of the population. So much for the freedom of individuals and individual organisations. I thought that because we are a multidisciplinary society whose members come from various professional societies we had decided to resist attempts by Engineers Australia to take us over.  In retrospect, though I was against it at the time, the Australian Wind Engineering Society made a wise decision when it was formed to be independent of other professional organisations.

Well, coming up with a new logo that isn’t associated with EA would probably be a good thing if the tie between the organisations ever changes. From a marketing perspective I understand where they are coming from - uniformity and consistency of brand use.
