Is it possible to update location bid adjustments from a CSV import in a script.

I've written a script that pulls down the current location bid adjustments across all campaigns and then based on certain criteria will either reduce or increase the existing bid adjustments.

The changes are uploaded using the below:

var columns = ['Campaign','Location ID','Bid Modifier'];

  

  var upload = AdsApp.bulkUploads().newCsvUpload(columns)

  var uploadValues = sheet.getDataRange().getValues();

  

    

  for (i = 1; i < uploadValues.length; i++) {

    var campaign = uploadValues[i][0];

    var locationId = uploadValues[i][1];

    var newLocationAdjustment = uploadValues[i][6];    

    

    

    upload.append({ 

      'Campaign' : campaign,

      'Location ID' : locationId,

      'Bid Modifier' : newLocationAdjustment

    });    

    

    

  }

    

  

  upload.apply();  

  

  

}

However when the "CSV" is imported the change result column states "no changes" for all adjustments even though the new modifier that's being imported is different to the existing bid adjustment. Can anyone spot what might be going wrong?

Hi Jamie,

Are you looking in the Scripts changes history? For bulk upload changes, please check Tools > Bulk Actions > Uploads.

Hi Matt,

 

Yeah I’ve taken a look in the bulk actions > uploads. There are preview files there that were uploaded by the script but the results are “No Changes”.

 

When I download the file with the results in there are rows for each campaign, location ID and new bid modifier but the result given is “# No changes” – I’ve copied in a screenshot of the spreadsheet below:

 

 

I don’t know if the CSV is formatted wrong with headers etc or the number formatting of the adjustment?

 

Any tips would be helpful!

Hi Jamie,

It appears that 'location ID' is not a supported bulk upload entity. Please see this page for a list of supported bulk upload entities.
