I’m digging into the ad performance report and I’m not sure it’s giving me what I actually need. From what I can tell, every time an ad gets an impression, all headlines are also logged as having received an impression, even if a particular headline wasn’t shown.
If that’s true, it feels like this kind of defeats the purpose of the report. I’m trying to identify which headlines are actually driving lift in clicks, but if impressions and clicks are tied to the full ad and not individual assets, I’m not sure that kind of insight is possible.
Can anyone confirm if this is how it works or if there’s another way to track actual headline level performance?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads Scripts support team.
Please be informed that the link you have provided is a broken page. If you are looking for an Ad Performance Script, I would recommend that you use the Source code available in the “Ad Performance Report” documentation. Also, kindly remove the ‘ad_group_ad.ad.discovery_carousel_ad.headline', and 'ad_group_ad.ad.discovery_multi_asset_ad.headlines' fields from the CONFIG object and make sure to add your email ID and template spreadsheet URL from the Setup document.
I hope this helps! Feel free to get back to us with the following details for any further issues.

I would like to inform you that the script pulls data of headlines and other metrics whose impressions are greater than zero during the last 7 days. Please be informed that our team can only provide support for concerns/issues related to Google Ads Scripts. Your concern is more related to the Ad performance which is out of scope for us.
