Cant retrieve bidding strategy type of adgroups using the new beta scripts

Hi,

I am trying to migrate our scripts to the New scripts experience and I cant retrieve the bidding strategy type for my ad groups.

While not using the beta:

• Can retrieve it only while using the AWQL but not with GAQL

While using the beta:

• Can get the value using both query languages

Hi Alex,

I've tried the reported issue my end, and can confirm that I was getting an error "not support". Please do note that the New Google Ads Scripts is still on beta stage, and the team is still working for update to support wide range of entities. In the meantime, we would recommend using AWQL, until such time that the said field will be supported on the new Google ads script. You may also want to keep an eye on our developer blog for updates regarding this.

Hi, thanks for looking into it.

We are trying to migrate to the beta scripts, we saw (now i dont see it anymore) that the old scripts are about to sunset around April this year.

So please advise how to approach this when the beta scripts are not fully supporting, and the MCC level account still dont have beta option at all.

Please be advised that there hasn't been any official news nor blog posts regarding the sunset of the current Google Ads scripts version, perhaps you are referring to the AdWords API being sunset on April 27, 2022. On the other hand, would you be able to clarify what you were able to retrieve through the current versions of scripts and scripts beta as you have described below so I can assist you further? Are you only encountering an issue with the current scripts version where the bidding strategy type was not returned with GAQL?

• While not using the beta: Can retrieve it only while using the AWQL but not with GAQL
• While using the beta: Can get the value using both query languages 

Additionally, please consider the following best practices when using the new Google Ads Scripts Beta.

• Use search instead of report
• Prefer GAQL to AWQL
