Device bid adj. - Script to change adj in bulk

HI,

Now that DBA rolled out in many accounts, I was wondering if you have any script that can change in bulk all the device adj in the account?

I want to create a sheet with each campaign and adj for every device and use Adwords scripts to set it. Is this possible? 

(Adwords editor version that supports the new feature will only come out at the end of September).

Hi Hadar,

To get started with Device Bid Adjustments, you would want to use the follow script.  It looks for all ad groups currently in that account and applies a device bid modifier for mobile.  If you want to target a different device, please follow the suggestions here.

  while (agDevice.hasNext()) {
    var ag = agDevice.next();
    ag.devices().setMobileBidModifier(0.1);
  }

This is definitely possible. The new platform bidding entities are covered here: https://developers.google.com/adwords/scripts/docs/reference/adwordsapp/adwordsapp_platform

If you gave us a little more information about how you'd want to lay out the spreadsheet I could look at putting something together, though this also might be possible (and easier) through bulk uploads.

How can i do it with bulk uploads? As i see, Editor will only be available during end of September. 

About the script - I want to create a spread sheet with 5 columns: Account name, campaign name, Tablet bid adj., Mobile bid adj., Computer bid adj. 

The script will go over the spreadsheet and will update the adj. in all of the campaigns.

Hi Hadar,

Our documentation will walk you through setting up a Bulk Upload.  These are the supported Bulk Upload entities that you could use.  Also, check out the samples that we provide.

As for reading from a spreadsheet, you can use the openByUrl method in the SpreadsheetApp class in order to achieve this.

I checked the entities but there aren't metrics of Bid Adjustment, so how can i use bulk uploads?

Hi Hadar,

Unfortunately, device bid adjustments are not available through bulk uploads. You will need to set them as Tyler mentioned initially.

We have currently a similar need to Hadar.

We would need a script that set the device modifiers (tablet, mobile & desktop) at the ad group level from a google spreadsheet.

[AccountID] / [CampaignName] / [AdgroupName] / [BidModifier] / [Device]

0000000 / +{d} +table tennis / Buy / 1.3 / Desktop => setDesktopBidModifier

0000000 / +{d} +table tennis / Buy / 0.5 / Mobile => setMobileBidModifier

0000000 / +{d} +table tennis / Buy / 0.7 / Tablet =>setTabletBidModifier

Are you able to put something together with these details?
