Bulk Upload from MCC account not making any changes to child accounts

Hello everyone,

First here is some context on what I am trying to do.
I have several accounts (we'll call them children accounts) managed by several MCC accounts (parents accounts), themselves managed by a MCC account (grandparent account).

I am currently using a script to make bulk changes to my children accounts : it creates a bulk upload CSV, fills it with informations from a Gsheet, and upload the changes to Google Ads.
(The changes are changes to the maximum CPC of certain keywords, hence the columns of the CSV)

This script is "local" : I have a version of it for each children account, eventhought they all get their changes from the same GSheet.
It works perfectly, here we can see a bunch of changes I could upload for a given account.




I am now trying to have only one version of this script, that I would run from the Grandparent MCC account. 
It would only change one account at a time.
Here is how I did it :

Where localBulkUpload is the same function I use in my children accounts scripts.

This seems to work at first. The script finishes and I don't get any error.
However when I go check the changes in the "All bulk actions" section here is what I see :



"No changes" instead of the same "36 valid changes" it should be (I used the same information to change the CPCs).

I don't see a problem in my method, so I don't understand why it doesn't work.

I have standard access to the grandparetn MCC account, and Admin access to the children accounts. 

Can you help me with this problem ?

Hi Mathis,

This issue will be easier to troubleshoot directly in your account. Can you please privately reply with the relevant CIDs (grandparent, parent and child account) along with the script name in the grandparent account?

The Reply privately to author option should be available in the upper right corner where a dropdown can be seen. Could you confirm if you are able to see it?

I can see the option but can't use it. It's in grey and says :

Hi Mathis,

Please see this support page on replying privately. For this particular issue, the page suggests:

"Note: If Reply to author is grayed out, check your Chrome Browser mailto setting."

Hi, 

So I went into my Browser's setting and set Gmail as my mailing link handler. It didn't work, even after I close everythong and restard the PC.

I then added a Mailto extension to my Browser and set Gmail as my handler in it. Restarted the PC, and it still doesn't work...

Can you send me an email address I can contact directly ? It would be easier than trying to make the Mailing Link work.

I appreciate your effort in providing the requested details. I work with Matt and Peter, and let me help you to address the issue.

Upon checking the Uploads section (TOOLS & SETTINGS > BULK ACTIONS > Uploads) of the provided account, I can see that the script is indeed made no changes to child accounts. With this, could you provide an access to the spreadsheet that you are using in the script to further check and to try this script on my test account?

Hi Ejay,

I still can't share information privately to you. I don't know how to provide you with the access without giving an open sharing link away.

So I will only be sharing a copy of the gsheet reduced to the minimum information for the script to work. 
Here is a sharing link to the copy :

You will need to change the line 4 of the script to this :
So the script accesses the copy and not the original gsheet. 


The information we use to make the bulk upload are in the "Bulk Upload Sasroom" sheet. Specifically the columns "Campaign Id", "Campaign", "Ad Group Id", "Ad Group", "Keyword Id", "Keyword", "Match Type" and "New CPC".
I let a sample of changes as an exemple.

The other columns "Old CPC", "Indicator", "Clicks" and "Abs. Top Impr. %"  are only here for readability and give some contexts to the user.

Hi Mathis,

There appear to be two unique spreadsheets in the script, so I've requested access to the one in your uploadChanges function, for the sake of completeness. 

Looking in the account specified in the 'interface' tab, the changes specified in the next tab appear to already have been made in the account. If there is no difference between the upload and the current entity, then 'no changes' will be shown on the bulk uploads page. It should also be noted that the script is only using columns A - F in the spreadsheet, which provide campaign, ad group and keyword IDs/names. The Old/New CPC columns are not in the range of script. Additionally, those column headers are not supported by bulk upload.

Hi Matt,

Depending on wich documents you checked, it is possible the changes you saw have been applied (using the same script located in a children account).
However, even when giving new changes we get the result "no changes" you mentionned.
I will loaded new changes in the document if you want to check again.

The script gets the columns with the method var values = sheet.getDataRange().getValues();. It does get the whole array of data in the sheet "Bulk Upload Sasroom", not just the columns A-F, I checked too.
So values[i][8] does get the new Max CPC bid we want to apply (line 54 in the script).

The "Old CPC" column is indeed not supported in google ads, so it is not included in the bulk upload CSV (wich is called "upload" in our case).
I know the CSV is supposed to work, as I use the same one to make bulk changes from the same script that I run from the individual accounts.

I tried previewing the script in your account and I was able to replicate issue. The changes should be applied in one of your account, however, no changes has been shown in all bulk actions view.
