Pause Sitelinks with Scripts

Hi!

I was just wondering if it's possible to pause and enable sitelinks using scripts. As far as I see in the support documentation (here: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/scripts/docs/reference/adsapp/adsapp_sitelink) there's no method to pause or enable sitelinks, however I might just be missing something really obvious.

So yeah... My question is simply if sitelinks can be paused and enabled using scripts.

During my search on this matter I found a topic from last year when it was confired that at that time it was not possible and it was raised as a feature request. If it's still not possible I'd like to ask the current status of this request.

Hello Attila,

I'd like to confirm that your understanding is correct, there are no methods available for pausing or enabling sitelinks via Google Ads Scripts. The methods available are found on the document provided: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/scripts/docs/reference/adsapp/adsapp_sitelink. With this, you may instead set your sitelinks schedule or end-date and start date using the following methods and see if it would fit your use-case:

• setStartDate - Sets the sitelink's start date. The change will fail and report an error if the given date is invalid (e.g., {year: 2013, month: 5, day: 55}), or the start date now comes after the end date, or it's a date in the past.
• setEndDate - Sets the sitelink's end date. The change will fail and report an error if the given date is invalid (e.g., {year: 2013, month: 5, day: 55}), or the given date is after the sitelink's end date.
• setSchedules - Sets the sitelink scheduling. Scheduling of a sitelink allows you to control the days of week and times of day during which the sitelink will show alongside your ads.

Regarding the feature request, there is no guarantee that this kind of functionality will be implemented anytime soon in the Google Ads Scripts. That said, I would recommend that you continuously follow our blog for updates and new releases on this.
