ad_group_ad_asset_view return nothing

Hi, Googleads api team.

I searched and found that there is a ad_group_ad_asset_view seems could fetch adasset metrics report. 

I also tried with GAQL. but  result is : no error and no data.

The GAQL like this: "SELECT asset.name,campaign.name,metrics.impressions FROM ad_group_ad_asset_view LIMIT 10". And there is no data. Then I change the customer_id, and this time had  normal data.

I noticed that the two cutomer app campaigns have a different place. The first customer app campaign had no ad group, but the second had ad group.

So, can you tell me why? And how to get the assets metrics report if the app campaign has no ad group.

Thank you for sharing the additional details. The ad_group_ad_asset_view returns the details if the assets are associated with the ads. It looks like there are no ads which use these assets and hence you are seeing no data for these reports.

There have no ads in App Campaign. And I can confirmed that there are assets performance report data in google ads UI.

The ad_group_ad_asset_view returns the details if the assets are associated with the ads. Since the assets are not associated with the ads in the UI, this will not return any results. You will be able to use the asset resource to pull the specific asset details. Could you please give this a try and let us know if you have any issues?

How assets are associated with ads? There are no ads setting when create app campaign in UI.

The ad_group_ad_asset_view is used to query the ad assets metrics. The upcoming changes to the Universal App Campaigns will allow you to create the App Campaigns with new settings and created Ads using the AppAdInfo. You will be able to add the asset details to the App Campaigns using this attribute. Please refer to this blog post as a reference.
