Hi Google Ads support team!
We are experiencing ReportDownloadError.ERROR_GETTING_RESPONSE_FROM_BACKEND errors since 2019-07-14 for various accounts our app serves and various reports definitions. I saw previous topics on this errors ocuring randomly. My question is if I could do anything on my side to avoid this error (I already have delay and retry - any suggestions on appropriate delay time and retry attempts count?). I can provide examples of report requests which ended up with failure in private message it this could help. Please let us know if there is a known issue at Google side. Thanks in advance!

Please use reply privately to the author option while sharing the information requests.

Hi guys! I've sent details privately at July 17, but I haven't received any response so far. The issue is still actual for us, please let me know if I need to re-send detailed info...
Thanks!

Hi Oksana,

I am a colleague of Sai, and I will be assisting you with your concern here. My apologies for the delayed response. I have received your private response.

To prevent encountering this error in your future downloads, I would suggest you to lessen your selected fields and download them on a separate report, or you can add more predicates in your query to return more specific results. You may read more about this in this link.

Regards,
Dannison

Thanks Dannison! We see this error being temporary, any recommendations on delay and number of attempts for report creation? This would be the best way for us to change our code with the smallest impact.
Thanks!
Oksana

Hi Oksana,

There are no specific recommendations for delay and number of attempts to download the report successfully. You just have to make sure that you are not downloading a report that is too large. You can ensure this by reducing the selected fields, adding more conditions, or by using a shorter date range.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.
