Can we reproduce the Auction Insights report via the API? 

If not is there any timeline as to when it might be available?

New reports that appear in AdWords are generally added in an upcoming version of the AdWords API. Auction insights report is not currently available through AdWords API right now.

I am wondering when will AuctionInsights be available in API? There must be a way how to import these data to other external systems otherwise these stats are not useful. Is there any other alternative way how to import these data automatically, I believe not.

At this moment, we don't have the specific time frame when auction insights will be available in API.  
And currently it's not available to pull it automatically.

@Daniel, I'm looking for something similar, and here's what I plan to try for now:

1. download & schedule auction insights reports

2. have server-side script deal with csv file when it arrives (i.e. parse and dump into DB tables)

3. create dashboard(s), script out alerts, etc.

It's a bit more manual than I'd like (and might be impractical for a large number of keywords), but this feels like an intuitive way to get started.

Anyone else have thoughts/ideas on how best to do this?

After poking around in JavaScript Console I found that the direct link in the email contains all of the query string params you need to send a request for the csv download except for the token.

Example email link: https://adwords.google.com/cm/CampaignMgmt?frag=repd.<rd is here>/<rrd is here>&__u=<numbers>&__c=<more numbers>

And you can make requests to this URL to start the download: https://adwords.google.com/cm/reportdownload?__rd=<stuff>&__rrd=<stuff>&__u=<stuff>&__c=<stuff>&token=<stuff>

I'm not sure what's the best way to deal with this, but after some quick Google-fu I found this post which looks like it could work: http://tanshio.net/adwords-report-download-by-casperjs/. (I plan to try this later on in the week.)

However, perhaps there's a way to do this with our dev token using Oauth2.

Any update on this guys? It's been years since it was put on the road map and still nothing? Can you at least make it available in scripts? Seems to be the only feature not available outside the UI.

Can you maybe share some insight into why this isn't available? I'm sure you have your reasons for not adding it and it would be helpful to understand why.

Although there isn't a specific auction insights report in the API, many of the metrics from that user interface view are available in various reports. For example:

• SearchImpressionShare
  
• ContentImpressionShare
  
• AveragePosition
  
• The various xxxxLostImpressionShare fields

Thanks for the reply.
That's true, but those competitive metrics are not what we're looking for :)

It's competitor data so we can effectively report over time how we're doing against certain competitors. Right now, the only way to do this is to save the report each month segmented by week and manually paste it into a spreadsheet or Tableau.

Some of our larger clients only care about branding and getting a greater impression share than certain key competitors.

Hi Josh.
Indeed. And we use it in the UI. It's the reporting that were after.

So we need to see on a campaign basis what new or existing competitors are in the auction, how our share compares and how campaign experiments or flexible bidding strategies impacted share against said competitors. Another use case is simply tracking impression share vs key competitors over time. This usually dictates budgets.

Those API services only allow the setting of those features (unless I'm mistaken) and not the reporting.

Essentially, what were looking for is a way to pull the exact data that the auction insights report generates without doing it manually. Seems like the only other way to do this in a programmatic way is by email?

I appreciate that this seems quite niche (although that surprises me considering how valuable the insight data is), but you can't just dangle that data in the UI in front of us and not expect us to get greedy ;)

this report is definitelly not a niche, there must be thousands of clients and agencies, which need these precios data and have to rewrite the numbers from this report to spreadsheet manualy, the scipt would be VEEERY HELPFUL!

Adding another tally to the list.  There's a lot of requests for it, but all I see from Google are that it's not available and to check the blog.  Hopefully this is something that can be added as it is extremely valuable to allow us to track this automatically over time and see positive or negative gains.

As this is a 5 year old thread i don't harbour much hope but you can add my name to the list of API users that is very keen to see this report added. Clearly the useful information that most people are after is their performance vs competitors rather than the small list of metrics available in other reports.

Agreed. There's clearly a demand but its being refused.

I wish we could just be told why it's not being made available. If there's a logical reason, fine. But at least tell us.

If Google doesn't want to expose this data for third party competitive analysis tools to benefit from, cool. At least call it that. Don't leave us waiting 5 years.

Well I for one will be creating the reports I need and scheduling them to be emailed to me as CSVs as the only way of automating the data.

As Max already mentioned, using the UI to schedule this report would be the available alternative.

Hi, I noticed Google Ads API v11 page indicates auction insight search metrics:

However:

1) There is a line under the metric description which says "This metric is not publicly available." Hence, may I clarify if the auction insight search metrics on Google API v11 page are available or not available for use?

2) There is no mention of shopping metrics. Hence, may I clarify (i) if the auction insight search metrics on the Google Ads API v11 page are same or separate from auction insight shopping metrics? (ii) if they are different, would auction insight shopping metrics be available in next API v12?
