Hi Gregory,

Thank you for posting your concern.

I would like to inform you that I am going to remove your initial post as it contains generated API logs. Allow me to post the body of your concern below instead:
"I am seeing a new issue with the Google Ads API when trying to create a bidding strategy.

Client: Google Ads Java SDK
Version: Latest v6 (11.0.0)

Here is an example of the request:

Request
-------REDACTED

As you can see, it's very simple: creating an enhanced cpc bidding strategy. The response I consistently receive is:

Response
--------REDACTED
This sounds like some kind of 400 error, but I've looked at the docs and confirmed I'm sending all required fields and the string length is within limits. I've upgraded to the latest java sdk library version, but still no helpful error message returned. Can you please advise how to debug this? This code path has not been changed and other identical requests have succeeded before. Please let me know if you need any other info from me.
Thank you for your time!
"

It appears that the issue is related to this blog post that on March 22, 2021 we will begin to sunset Enhanced cost-per-click (ECPC) bid strategies. The following behaviors will be blocked in all versions of both the AdWords API and the Google Ads API:
  • Creating new portfolio ECPC strategies.
  • Attaching portfolio ECPC strategies to campaigns.

You may check the link of the blog post that I provided to know more information about this update. Let me know if you have further questions.
