Updating a customer through API

Is there a way to update some customer field through the API? I can create one with this method https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/account-management/create-account but I don't seem to find the update equivalent.

What's the rationale behind this in the case this is not possible?

Moving forward, it seems that this is specifically about updating some customer fields through the API. That said, you can use the CustomerService.MutateCustomer method of the CustomerService which has the update operation.
