Hey guys -
While migrating all our customers' sitelinks to use upgraded urls, I ran across one account with a strange Sitelink feed so that I don't know how to migrate its sitelinks. The feed's origin is Adwords, but it contains arrtibutes for SitelinkFinalURL and SitelinkFinalMobileUrl of type URL rather than URL_LIST. The active mapping for it doesn't have a mapping for the upgraded url  attributes at all. Can I get some help with how to migrate these sitelinks? The client customer id is 859-816-5283, the feedId is 11061395 and the mappingId is 11257715.

Thanks a bunch!
mm

Hi,

Check out this blog post on Easier Upgraded URL migration with Feed and FeedMapping modifications. A few weeks ago, the sitelinks on the back-end were modified by our team to help you skip the approvals process during the migration.

Cheers,

Hey Nadine -
Yeah, I noticed my other feeds were auto-modified, but this feed was modified differently. The final url fields were of type URL rather than URL_LIST (every other feed appears to use URL_LIST), and the mapping doesn't have new attributes in it at all. The client customer id is 859-816-5283, the feedId is 11061395 and the mappingId is 11257715.

Thanks -

When I pull down the feeds, that feed is returned as:

<entries>
<id>11061395</id>
<name>Main sitelink feed-3</name>
<attributes>
<id>1</id>
<name>SitelinkName</name>
<type>STRING</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<attributes>
<id>2</id>
<name>SitelinkUrl</name>
<type>URL</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<attributes>
<id>3</id>
<name>SitelinkDescription1</name>
<type>STRING</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<attributes>
<id>4</id>
<name>SitelinkDescription2</name>
<type>STRING</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<attributes>
<id>5</id>
<name>SitelinkFinalUrl</name>
<type>URL</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<attributes>
<id>6</id>
<name>SitelinkFinalMobileUrl</name>
<type>URL</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<attributes>
<id>7</id>
<name>SitelinkTrackingUrl</name>
<type>URL</type>
<isPartOfKey>false</isPartOfKey>
</attributes>
<status>ENABLED</status>
<origin>ADWORDS</origin>
</entries>

And the mapping:
<entries>
<feedMappingId>11257715</feedMappingId>
<feedId>11061395</feedId>
<placeholderType>1</placeholderType>
<status>ENABLED</status>
<attributeFieldMappings>
<feedAttributeId>1</feedAttributeId>
<fieldId>1</fieldId>
</attributeFieldMappings>
<attributeFieldMappings>
<feedAttributeId>2</feedAttributeId>
<fieldId>2</fieldId>
</attributeFieldMappings>
<attributeFieldMappings>
<feedAttributeId>3</feedAttributeId>
<fieldId>3</fieldId>
</attributeFieldMappings>
<attributeFieldMappings>
<feedAttributeId>4</feedAttributeId>
<fieldId>4</fieldId>
</attributeFieldMappings>
</entries>

Hello Margaret,

I see what you're saying. Thanks for clarifying. I'm going to contact some of the people who were involved in the effort of updating the data to be compatible with upgraded URLs to see why this is the case. I'll get back to you as soon as I have news.

Best,
Nadine, AdWords API Team
