ad_group_ad.labels field being empty when Google Ads UI shows Ad Label set

Hi Google Ads API support team!

We experience the next problem. When we pull ad_group_ad we get empty ad_group_ad.labels field value. In the same time label is shown in Google Ads UI. 

Could there be a reason for this? Will be happy to send request / response detail and Google Ads UI screenshot in private messaging!

By reviewing your query, I understand that you are trying to pull ad_group_ad and getting an empty ad_group_ad.labels field value.

In order to investigate your issue, kindly provide us with the uncropped screenshot of the Google Ads UI and updated complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end to assist you better.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

I would suggest you to try the below query and let us know your response. If you still find the discrepancy, please provide us the complete request and response logs with request-id and request header, so that we can investigate this issue further.

Just wanted to update as I believe this could be helpful to other API users. 

I got answers to my question in private messaging with API team:

"It appears the API is working at intended and that it is not possible to fetch this label using the API. The reason for this is that the label was created at the MCC level, and according to this support article, "only manager accounts can view account labels; they can’t be created or viewed at the individual Google Ads account level." If you were to look at the client account in the UI without being logged into the Manager account, the label would not appear. Because you can only perform search queries with the API at the client level, and not the MCC level, it is not possible to retrieve this information using the API."
