Test MCC Account issue

Hi AdWords API support,

I created a test manager account and find out that whenever I created a new account in that test account, it is automatically cancelled in the new UI but seems normal in the old adwords ui.

When I created 50 accounts, it stops me from creating more. I understand this limit but as the created accounts are canceled in the new UI, i cannot cancel it again. Are there any workarounds? Currently I am only created new test manager accounts to solve this problem.

Hello Robin,

Any account created via a test manager account would be test accounts by default. Yes, there is a limit of 50 accounts, if the highest amount accounts together spent in a month, from the last 12 months is less than $10,000 on your manager account. Could you confirm whether you are using AdWords API or AdWords UI to create accounts and facing issues? If you are using AdWords API, could you please share the SOAP logs(request and response) of the API service along with the CID of your manager account from which you are creating the new accounts?? You could use reply privately to author option while sharing the details requested.

I'm having the same issue that was described in the initial question.

When creating an account in my Test Account using the new UI, it automatically gets cancelled upon creation. When clicking into any account, if I go into Tools > Preferences > Account status, there is no status shown and there is no button for me to reactivate my account (as described in the following guide: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2375392?co=ADWORDS.IsAWNCustomer%3Dtrue&hl=en&oco=0). Please let me know what I need to do in order to have my accounts created as Eligible by default.

I believe this is also causing issues for me when fetching all accounts under my Test Account. If I run the GetCampaigns.php example with the clientCustomerID set as my MCC ID, no accounts/campaigns are returned (possibly because they are all cancelled). If I provide a specific account ID then I am able to fetch campaign details for that specific account only.

Hello Claire,

All the test accounts would be in canceled status by default. The test accounts don't serve Ads and they can't be activated. The guide is applicable for production accounts only.

You will be able to fetch the campaigns details for regular accounts, but not directly from the MCC account. If you want to get the campaigns from all the accounts under an MCC, you could achieve this by getting all the accounts under an MCC (refer the code sample GetAccountHierarchy.php) and then run GetCampaigns.php for each account under that MCC. Please give it a try and let me know if you have any further questions.
