Hi
I'm opening this ticket in order to better understand the changes that, starting from 17 June 2024, will be applied to the Google Ads Api resource usage policy.
From what I have understood from your blog, starting from 17 June you will throttle reporting query patterns that consume excessive amounts of API resources.

We have several hourly flows that download last 24 hours data from each account (this frequency is mandatory for us).

Looking in the new SearchGoogleAdsStreamResponse.query_resource_consumption parameter I see that my requests require an average of 600 "report resources".
In 5 minutes, I run an average of 100 request, so 600 * 100 = 60.000 resources in 5 minutes.

Seeing your documentation, my use case is between P70 (Moderately high) and P95 (Very high).

What does it mean? Will my query be throttled? Or can I continue to use these?

Best Regards,
Giacomo

+1. Following.
The APIs have not returned any errors so far. It would be great to get some clarification from the Google Ads API team on what these values are for Average, Moderately High and Very High usage and at what point are we going to get these errors of QuotaError.RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED,QuotaError.EXCESSIVE_SHORT_TERM_QUERY_RESOURCE_CONSUMPTION or QuotaError.EXCESSIVE_LONG_TERM_QUERY_RESOURCE_CONSUMPTION

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.

As per the blog post, only for the throttled query patterns, requests will be affected with errors. However, I have raised your queries with the rest of our team and one of my teammates will reach out to you once we have an update.

Hi,
Thanks for getting back.

As per the blog post, it is mentioned,
"Starting the week of June 17, 2024, and only for the throttled query patterns, requests will be affected".

1. Can we please confirm if the mentioned date was correct and the changes are already rolled out?

2. It would be great to get some clarification from the Google Ads API team on what these values are for Average, Moderately High and Very High usage and at what point (Very high/Moderately High ) are we going to get these errors of QuotaError.RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED,QuotaError.EXCESSIVE_SHORT_TERM_QUERY_RESOURCE_CONSUMPTION or QuotaError.EXCESSIVE_LONG_TERM_QUERY_RESOURCE_CONSUMPTION

Thanks.

Hi Subodh,

Due to the way our current documentation is structured, there's not very easy to compare your usage against the published numbers to figure out when you might be closer to getting this error.

If you can share your API Manager customer ID, I can lookup the API usage for your developer token and let you know if you are close to hitting this limit. Most likely you aren't, we've been working directly with several customers who were at risk of hitting this limit.
