Hello!

In ClickView resource I got the response, where the click was initiated by several targetings, like in example below. How can I match it with cost? And which report I should use?

"gclid": "Cj0KCQiA3rKQBhCNARIsACUEW_ZOaWekIc9UT57hToCSGyYoVLy4BnOuGkpB4Dq9lGCOvilcmEK4m_waAo-kEALw_wcB",
"campaignLocationTarget": "geoTargetConstants/1392068769249",
"
userList": "customers/***/userLists/6963747198"

And in general, how to match ClickView with cost_micros for each type of targeting?

Hi Nirmita,

I don't see any cost in ClickView resource. But I do need to find out the way how to get it from another resources and match with Click View.

In my example you can see 2 targetings with the particular Gclid. Am I right, that two targetings equally initiated the click? In previous version of API we had Criterion ID, so we could see how much money did each Criterion spend with each click.

Now, please, tell me, what report (resource) I should use, to see how much money I spent for this click?

Hi Inna,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

I raised with my team your request for a Criteria Id filed in click_view just like in AdWords CLICK PERFORMANCE REPORT . This request is subject to review. You may monitor our blog for an update.

Hi Nirmita,

thank you for your effort.

Still we need an answer how to use these reports now before you stop allowing us to use AdWords API completely in April.

So I still need to find out what report (resource) I should use, to see how much money I spent for this click?
There must be a way in your current version of API, right?
Please, help us.

Hi Inna,

Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, you can use latest version 10 of the Google Ads API. You can check metrics.cost which level you want to use and you can validate your query through query vaildtoar tools. Let me know if you have any question.

Hi Nirmita.

Please, give me an official answer to 2 following questions:

1. Am I right, that two targetings equally initiated the click?
2. What report (resource) I should use, to see how much money I spent for this click

And this is an information about the click:

"gclid": "Cj0KCQiA3rKQBhCNARIsACUEW_ZOaWekIc9UT57hToCSGyYoVLy4BnOuGkpB4Dq9lGCOvilcmEK4m_waAo-kEALw_wcB",
"campaignLocationTarget": "geoTargetConstants/1392068769249",
"
userList": "customers/***/userLists/6963747198"

Hi Inna,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Kindly see below responses to your queries:

1. Am I right, that two targetings equally initiated the click?

>> Yes. The given gclid is associated with both campaign location target, and user list.

2. What report (resource) I should use, to see how much money I spent for this click?

>> Since click_view does not support metrics.cost_micros, you can use metrics.clicks from click_view resource, and then compare it to the associated metrics.cost_micros.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hello, Yasar

My goal is to match ClickView with another resource (I have no idea which one and that's why I text here) to get metrics.cost_micros for this click.
Please, give me the name of the resource I should use to get the information about how much money I spent for this click?

"gclid": "Cj0KCQiA3rKQBhCNARIsACUEW_ZOaWekIc9UT57hToCSGyYoVLy4BnOuGkpB4Dq9lGCOvilcmEK4m_waAo-kEALw_wcB",
"campaignLocationTarget": "geoTargetConstants/1392068769249",
"
userList": "customers/***/userLists/6963747198"

Again, I need to find out exactly this: how much money I spent for this exact click?

Hi Inna,

Thank you for your reply.

Associating a GCLID directly to a metrics field (ex. cost) is currently not available. If this is currently possible via the Google Ads UI, you may provide our team with the screenshot of the UI so our team can create a feature request, subject for review, for its support in the API.

That said, while it is possible to be able to map specific criteria to their associated metrics / statistics, this may not translate to the exact figures that reflect what was generated by the GCLID itself.

For this, and since this is more Product related, I would recommend that you instead reach out to the Google Ads Product support team, via this link, to confirm whether it would be possible to accumulate values from separate criteria and associate its total to a given GCLID.

As for retrieving metrics of your campaign location criteria and user lists criteria, you may refer to the below reports : Best regards,
