How to transfer Administrative Ownership via API?

Hi Google Ads API Team,

I am trying to programmatically transfer the Administrative Ownership of a client account from one MCC to another.

Current Situation:

I can successfully link a new MCC and set it to ACTIVE status using /customerClientLinks.

However, the "Owner" column in the "Access and Security > Managers" UI still shows "No" for the new MCC and "Yes" for the old one.

I need to set the new MCC as the Owner so I can eventually remove the old MCC's access.

Questions:

Is there any way to update the owner status (Administrative Ownership) using the current API?

If the owner field was deprecated, what is the recommended programmatic workflow to transfer full ownership between two manager accounts?

Is this action strictly restricted to the Google Ads UI for security reasons?
