Hi All,

I have a question about the CONVERSION_NOT_FOUND error in the context of restating the value of conversion with a order id.

The adjustment fails with a CONVERSION_NOT_FOUND error if any of these conditions are met:
  • The conversion was never reported.
  • The conversion was reported less than 24 hours before the adjustment attempt. In some situations, this could lead to a TOO_RECENT_CONVERSION error instead.

What does ’The conversion was never reported’ exactly mean.
Is it:
  1. No conversion with the same conversion name and order id combination was ever reported to google ads.
  2. A conversion with he same conversion name and order id was possible reported, but the conversion was not attributed to google ads so the conversion adjustment is rejected.
We are having some internal discussions about this because we receive quite a lot CONVERSION_NOT_FOUND errors (next to some successful restatements), while we are quite confident that the order_id and conversion name combinations should be correct and known.

Best,
Melle

Hi Melle,

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads Forum. We appreciate your patience with this concern.

Could you please confirm, if you already consider the Validation rules in Upload Conversion Adjustments? If yes, then the error is still encountered, we will need to investigate this to answer your questions. You may please provide the complete API logs within the format of request and response logs with request ID and request header that are generated on your end. This information helps our team to check why you are encountering this "CONVERSION_NOT_FOUND" error.

If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link

You can provide it via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, then send it instead on this email address googleadsapi-support@google.com.
