Hello,

I have never used Google Ads API before.
I read Google documentation to learn how to use the API.
I will use this API to create reports and dashboards.
I have been only sent the developer token in order to access the API.
However as I understand, it is not enough and I need at least customer or client id.
Is this true and is there a way that I access this information without asking the client again?
What else I need to access the API?
I would like to precise  that I do not have any access to the ads account.

I will appreciate if you can guide me how to be sucessful at my first ads API call.

Thanks
Kind regards,
Aysun

Hi Aysun,

Thank you for reaching out. Before you could make an API call, you would need to do the following:
1. Sign up for a Google Ads Manager account.
2. Apply for a developer token
3. Download the client library
5. Get a refresh token

Take note that before you could make an API call using a production account, you would need to apply for basic access. The compliance team will contact you within 2 business days for the status. Once basic access is approved, you may then make an API call against your production account. You would also need to enable Google Ads API in your project, you may do so by following this guide. After completing all the steps, you could now try to make your first API call.

Let me know if this helps. Feel free to write back if you have further clarifications.

Regards,
Dave
