Hi,

I am working with DoubleClick on a geo-targeted campaign. Of the 2889 post codes in Victoria, Australia, 134 are not listed in your Location Criteria.
As a result, Doubleclick Studio returns errors for people viewing my campaign who are located in these regions. I have attached a file listing
Victoria's post codes.

Could you please include these, the list was compiled from a spreadsheet Victorian Electorates by Locality and Postcode available

Thanks,
Kristian

Hi Kristian,

Could you confirm if the location criteria you are referring to are the ones listed in our geo targeting spreadsheet? If yes, could you then provide the 134 postal codes which you said are not included in the list?

Thanks and regards,
Luis

More missing Post Codes for you:

Error Geo lookup failed for location "2484,Queensland,Australia" referenced in the field labeled Geo-Locator for record number 220.
Error Geo lookup failed for location "2474,Queensland,Australia" referenced in the field labeled Geo-Locator for record number 249.
Error Geo lookup failed for location "2611,Australian Capital Territory,Australia" referenced in the field labeled Geo-Locator for record number 252.
Error Geo lookup failed for location "2620,New South Wales,Australia" referenced in the field labeled Geo-Locator for record number 43.
Error Geo lookup failed for location "810,Northern Territory,Australia" referenced in the field labeled Geo-Locator for record number 96.

This is interfering with Doubleclick Studio's Geo-Proximity functionality.

Cheers,
Kristian

Hi Luis,

Those answers can be found by cross-referencing my attached spreadsheet with your AdWords API Location Criteria 2017-11-02

Thanks,
Kristian

Hello Kristian,

I've worked quite a bit with geo-locations, so I'm taking a look at this for you. I think I might have found the source of the confusion here. In our latest tables, those postal codes exist, but not with the states that you have associated with them. Here's an example:
  • Your lookup failed for "2484,Queensland,Australia".
  • So, I decided to look up postal code 2484 in Australia in Google Search. It turns out that postal code is located in New South Wales.
  • I took a look at our tables, and it is listed as "2484,New South Wales,Australia".
The good news is that the postal codes themselves aren't missing. The unfortunate news is that for all the postal codes that aren't working, the states associated with them that you are passing in don't match the postal code. Are these coming from one of Google's ads systems, or are they coming from somewhere else and need to be updated? If they are from one of Google's products, please get back to me, and we can figure out the next steps on how we can get that fixed. If not, then mystery solved, and you can hunt the culprit down elsewhere.

Best,
Nadine, AdWords API Team
