Hi all,

I would like to generate a dataframe in spark to represent the performance of ad_groups segmented by Age, Gender and Device.

Device is easy to have in AdGroupPerformance report type, but how can I grab Age and Gender info in awql or other api calls?

It's not possible to join AdGroupPerformance,  AgeRangePerformance and GenderPerformance reports dataframe to achieve the goal because I believe it's hard to segment the ad_group performances by gender and age by just joining Age and Gender tables, for example:

#assume I want some dataset like this below:

campaign_name     ad_group_name        gender            age_range            clicks     impressions
campaign_1            ad_group_1                Male              18to24                 14             203
campaign_1            ad_group_1                Female          18to24                 34             455
campaign_1            ad_group_1                Male              gt64                    0               13
campaign_1            ad_group_1                Female          gt64                    2                24

Please let me know if any ways that I can pull data like this, bunch of thanks in advance !!

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

I'm afraid the report that you wish to obtain is not supported or possible. There is currently no way to associate or combine Age and Gender within the same row as these criteria separately generate statistics. Additionally, the Ad Group Performance Report cannot be segmented by the criteria type which generated the statistics.

Thanks and regards,
Peter

hi Peter,

Thanks for the quick reply!

I understand it's not possible to do with awql now.  However we found it's doable in the GoogleAdwords Console by using Reports feature and drag Age , Gender items into the reports table. Is there any way we could perform this action in our program?

Thanks a lot,
James

Hi James,

If you are using custom columns for reports via the AdWords UI then I'm afraid that this is currently not supported in the AdWords API. You may follow our blog for any updates if and when this feature can be available in the AdWords API.

For AdWords API compatible reports, you may refer to our report mapping guide for more information.
