Offline Conversion and Conversion name

Hey,

 If I uploaded a conversion for a specific name,

then renamed the conversion name in AdWords and uploaded again the same gclid, conversion_name, date and value

Should it record the conversion ?

Because for now it doesn't work for me.

Hi Itay,

It appears that you uploaded duplicate offline conversion. Though it is allowed by AdWords API to upload duplicate offline conversions (same name, gclid, and date), only the first is recorded.

Please refer to the tips while doing OfflineConversion.

I just want to clarify my question again.

for example i started new conversion named 'test'

and than uploaded new conversion with specific gclid, date and value.

after couple of days i have changed the conversion name in adwords panel to 'test-old'

and started new conversion named 'test' again, and upload conversion with the same parameters as the old conversion.

does google count this upload as duplicate conversion?

Hi Itay,

To properly understand the case, can you please confirm what conversion do you see now, is it "test" or "test-old"?

In addition, please run the CLICK_PERFORMANCE_REPORT to check on the GclId and CampaignId. Then, use this information to run the CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT. In this report, you can get the ConversionTypeName (this is the conversion name). This will help validate which GCLID and conversion name is uploaded.

right now in Adwords interface i see conversion 'test'

the conversion 'test-old' is disabled.

Hi Itay,

Have you tried to run the CLICK_PERFORMANCE_REPORT and CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT I asked in the previous post? Is it also returning the "test" conversion? Is the "test-old" not returned in the reports as well? 

To further analyze the case, please reply privately to author the clientCustomerId with this issue and the report definition you ran to check on the uploaded conversions.

I see 'test-old' in CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT as well,

but it confused me, 

I think I start my test again and if I have more questions, I will ask them here again.
