Hi,
Over 1 month ago I requested an API token. 2 weeks ago I was requested
further information which I provided. Unfortunately since then I have
not received any update on my token and the status is still Pending
Approval.
I see this forum gets very good support so I would be very happy if
anybody can help me in letting me know what can I do to speed up the
process
Thanks a lot in advance!
Marcelo

Hi Marcelo,

Unfortunately the token review team is working through a backlog of requests, so it may take some time to get replies from them.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Best,
- Eric Koleda, AdWords API Team

Thanks Eric,
Good to know this is work in progress. I will wait a couple of more
weeks and hope I will have my token approved for then.
Regards,
Marcelo

I work for 360i, an agency representing many major Google clients. I use the AdWords API in internal product development, and have had the "Pending Approval" status for months. It is starting to effect my ability to do my job.

What does it take to get approval?

Hi Mike,

Reach out to adwordsa...@google.com. As Eric mentioned, the team is working through their backlog, but they will write back to you at the earliest.

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

Hi everyone,

One advise to share - make sure you provide a valid contact email address when signing up for AdWords API, and regularly track emails sent to that account. I've been hearing from the review team that some of the cases I forward from the forum are ones where the review team wrote back to the developer 2-3 weeks earlier, but the developers never responded to. Note that the email address you provide as your Company Email is the primary way for us to contact you with any questions we have.

If you haven't provided a valid contact email address or wish to update it, you may do it by logging into your AdWords API MCC account, navigating to My Account->AdWords API Center. Click the "Edit" link next to "Company Information" and update the "Company Email" field. Click the "Save" button to update your developer details.

Some additional things to keep in mind:
1) When you click "Edit" link, the "Tell us how you would like to use the Adwords API" box will appear empty. No need to type anything here, your previous entry will be populated when you click the Save button.
2) If you already have an approved token, then updating the developer information will not cause your tokens to stop working.

Hello,

We have now been in discussion with adwordsapi-tokens *AT* google.com for over 5 weeks and we are still waiting for approval.

We are an adwords qualified partner, google analytics qualified, part of the local Google agency program, have been discussing directly with google about making presentations  there, have worked for months on an application which requires access to the API, we have recently sent a fully revised application to make sure that we are now 100% compliant with adwords API terms and conditions and

we are still waiting for an answer.

If there is still an issue: let us know what we need to fix.

Considering that access to the API is critical for us (our business, our jobs - yes, it is really important), we really hope a human being reads this message and gets back to us.

Best regards,
Ben

I, too, have been waiting for several weeks for my approval. I have emailed the adwordsapi-tokens email address multiple times without so much as a "thanks, we'll get back to you" reply. Is there anything I can do to speed this process? My client is getting impatient...

Regards,

Jared

More message actions I too have the same problem. ITS been 3 months!! They see the backlog, why don't they hire some more people? OR better yet, why don't they just try to automate it some. After all what are they protecting us/them from ? To require such a manual approval process? I think they canned tons of inactive accts
at once. Its not like
a tone of people applied all at once I would think.
