TargetingServiceIdea - keyword planner

Hi all,

Do someone know if we can get more than 800 keywords idea using TargetingServiceIdea?

I'm currently waiting for my developer token to be approve and in sandbox mode, I can't get more than 800 keywords, changing the paging startIndex has no effect (if I start at 799 and ask for 500 results, I will get only 1 result).

I am asked if I will be able to go above the 800 limit but can't be sure if I'm limited by sandbox mode or by API.

Hi Dan, 

The TargetingIdeaService returns dummy data for Test accounts. You wouldn't be able to get more than 800 keyword ideas as you are not working with real data. Please see this guide for differences between test and production accounts. This page lists various limits in the AdWords API, including the limits associated with TargetingIdeaService.

I'm sorry, actually, I meant that I want to know if, when my developer token will get basic (or higher) access, I will be able to retrieve more than 800 keyword results from TargetingIdeaService.

I can't find this in the documentation you sent, I can only find how many keywords I can send to the method, not how many I can retrieve.

In sandbox mode, I retrieve a maximum of 800 (dummy data) keywords even with pagination, I want to know if it will be the same in basic (or higher) mode.

Hi Dan, 

When you get a higher access(basic or standard) for your developer token, if you are using TargetingIdeaService for your test account, you will still get 800 results as it is still working with dummy data. If you make a request against a production account, you may get more results depending on the scenario.

Hi Shwetha,

I finally get my developer token approved for basic access.

When I try the example from https://github.com/googleads/googleads-php-lib/blob/master/examples/AdWords/v201603/Optimization/GetKeywordIdeas.php I can see 800 results maximum (no matter what I ask: "flight", "disneyland"... ) and these are now real results (not containing the dummy numbers I got when requesting in sandbox mode).

Are you sure I can get more than 800 results from TargetingIdeaService? If yes, could you please explain how should I do?
