Reaching the API quota limit - only send just under half of the daily requests

Hey @all,
why are we reaching the API quota limit even though we have only reached just under half of the daily requests due to the Console?
Status code: 8 Details: Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota). Request-ID: UYRQgCMonMYgm5p19invUQ We do not send more or different requests to Google than usual. Even when viewed over a shorter period of time, everything looks fine. Especially as the time block is almost 12 hours (i.e. until midnight).

Same behavior today. We still don't know why.
