BatchJobService.ListBatchJobResults returns Internal error

Hello.

I am receiving Internal error from BatchJobService.ListBatchJobResults, and the error rate is 100%.

The error has started today.

Other api(AddBatchJobOperations, MutateBatchJob) responses with no errors.

Could you tell me the cause and how to resolve?

This is Carmela from the Google Ads API team. Thank you for reaching out to us.

Moving forward to your concern, it appears that you've encountered an INTERNAL_ERROR. This error occurs when something unexpected happened while processing the request and the API isn't functioning correctly due to a bug. However, this is transient in nature and the API request will work again when retying it after 30 seconds or some time. That said, please retry your request again to see if this error will still occur.

However, since you mentioned that the error occurred 100%, then you may provide the complete request and response logs with request ID and request header generated on your end for further troubleshooting. You can provide it via Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, then send it instead on this email address googleadsa...@google.com.

Hi Carmela,

We are experiencing the same thing on our end. We can create the batch jobs, but when we try and ListBatchJobResults, we get an INTERNAL_ERROR. This has been happening for around 12 hours and retrying isn't helping.

We are having exactly the mentioned error, and the retries do not solve it either. It seems like a problem or perhaps a drop in the Google Ads service.

I did nothing during the failure, so I think that some probrem has been occured on your service.

Hi All - 

I'm a developer relations engineer jumping in to help here. This is a known issue that's currently being worked on. 

For more context - between 2022-07-28 08:50 PDT and 2022-07-29 02:37 PDT there were issues generating metadata for completed batch jobs, which has caused requests to ListBatchJobResults for jobs executed during that timeframe to fail with an error.  There have not been any issues with the execution of batched operations themselves, only the metadata for the results of the operations.

Once I have more details from the investigation I'll follow up here with an update.

Hello - 

Most of the metadata for these jobs has been backfilled, so if you make any requests for it chances are it will not fail now. I know there are still some outliers that are still being worked on, and even those should be fixed in the next 24 hours.
