Adwords API deprecation in favour of Google Ads API

Hello,

I'm currently looking at the planning page of the Google Ads API page documentation. It says. 

Complete transition
From the time of the V1 release of the Google Ads API, there will be approximately one year to complete the migration to the new code base. Google will sunset and disable the AdWords API at that time. Calls to the AdWords API will fail after the sunset.

Now, looking at the releases for the Google Ads API, I've found that the API has now an 1.0.0 release.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but in my mind, an 1.0.0 release is a "V1" release.

Is the AdWords API getting deprecated soon?

Hi Erik,

Yes, that is correct. the 1.0.0 release is indeed the V1 release. You will need to migrate to Google Ads API before AdWords API gets sunset. You can keep an eye on our blog for any announcements for dates.
