Upon checking your concern, It appears that you encountered the UNKNOWN error "The received error code is not known in this version." Also, you mentioned creating an app campaign in google ads UI and you copy the parameter and use google ads java sdk to create an app campaign. With this, could you try to create the apps campaign via this guide and  App Campaign code. This guide contains information on how to create apps campaign via Google Ads API. When you're done trying the said guide, let us know if you still ran into the UNKNOWN error "The received error code is not known in this version."

Thanks for your reply.

The request/response i provided is use the guide you mentioned above.

I am trying to create an app campaign via https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/app-campaigns/create-campaign#focus_install_action, but got an error response.It looks likely caused by param "selective_optimization".So I think I could copy the param "selective_optimization" from an app campaign created in google ads UI to fix it but still failed. The response just contains an UNKNOWN code and no other useful info.

With regards to your concern, could you try and use a non goal conversion action when specifying it in the selective_optimization attribute of the app campaign? Let us know how this goes on your end.
